I can understand Tennessee not making it. However, Houston reminds me of Green Bay where they rely 100% on their QB to bail them out. He’s in for a rough year without Hopkins. Watt is 31 and his body is a ticking time bomb.

New England is screwed. They just let go of a ton of guys. Brady was that entire offense. They also lost a HOF offensive line coach. They might be fine if 34 Edelman can keep taking steroids. All that team has left is BB and their secondary.

They also only have 4 mil in cap space. So they’re gonna have to cut more guys just to fit rookies in.

If there is one guy who could figure it out, I would say its BB

2.) Strong Safety -- I get that Sendejo and Redwine can play either spot but going into the season with that grouping is not going to go well.

Karl Joseph?

6.) CB -- I don't believe in Denzel or Greedy's ability to stay healthy. If one of them go down, the secondary is in crisis although Terrance Mitchell is a reliable spot starter we need more than him to steady the ship.

I feel like you missed a couple of our signings in FA thus far.

Hahahaa .... Wow... hilarious..

I was trying to figure out what the heck you all were talking about and then I went back and read my post above... Lol... Somehow it saved an older out of date late night post draft in the post space and sent it when I meant to send an entirely different post from my phone.

I've praised the Joseph and Johnson signings before and I will never trust phones.

Assuming we have a season, I am interested to see how the offensive install is affected by this virus. Stefanski is bringing in his system, and the offense obviously needed an overhaul from last year. This off-season is critical for Baker Mayfield to take a step forward and also start learning a new offense. I’m not sure this virus is doing us any favors. Not to say that other teams are in a similar situation, I just think this could be tough with a new coach and young quarterback. Obviously there is a lot of time ahead. But if there is a shortened timeline on the tail end of the off-season leading up to a season, that’s not adequate time to work with.

I read somewhere that the NFL is considering delaying the start of the season.

That would help some.

It’s why we should add vets. Lessen the learning curve.

View next season as a redshirt year for the 2020 rookies.

It is interesting to guess which way they will go for building the offense. Will they use some of the hayley/freddie offense for the sake of continuity?

At the start of the year i imagine  we might rely on obj, chubb and hunt and spam giving them the ball.

Our defense will be a shoot show, lack of talent, new system. Probably a time to buy some more 1 year vets.

Looking at the roster, the Browns still need to address the following this off-season

1.) Edge Rusher

Olivier Vernon, Chad Thomas, and Adrian Clayborn aren't going to get the browns where they want to go. If the Browns defense is going to make some noise this year, they have to upgrade that position group. Jadaveon Clowney has to be priority number 1 and Berry and co should overpay him for a year just to see how far the defense can go. Even if they sign Clowney, they should keep Vernon to create a solid rotation. Clowney and Vernon are injury risks so it would make sense to keep them both. Keeping Vernon until year's end also will likely result in the Browns getting a later round compensatory pick assuming Vernon makes it on the roster the whole year before hitting UFA.

2.) LB

Takitaki revealed the staff wants him to move to WLB. That means Mack likely takes over for Schobert at MLB with rookie Phillips taking the SLB starter role. I think there's a chance Willie Harvey or Jermaine Grace surprise people and end up as some sort of starter at MLB or WLB while Tae Davis is going to push for the starter at SLB. BJ Goodson is a two down thumper who's going to be a good role player but not a starter. Will be interesting to see if a LB from another team comes free to challenge for a starting role on the Browns. I highly doubt it as the guys that get cut from this point on will likely be retreads and the Browns probably want to see what they have in the young guys.

3.) QB3

If QB3 has to see the field, we're in trouble already and the season is lost. This is more about the QB room. I don't want Baker to have his childhood buddy or friend of the family in that room. Bring in either a young developmental guy (more than just the UDFA from Princeton) and/or bring in another professional young vet.

4.) Swing OL

We need a more reliable swing OL option and Chris Hubbard, Wyatt Teller, and Evan Brown are probably not it.

5.) RB3

Chubb and Hunt will dominate the snaps, but it would be meaningful to get a viable guy that could handle RB2 duties in the case of any eventuality along with the potential need to replace Kareem Hunt at season's end.

I think you’re forgetting someone...

I have no clue what they’re doing here.  Is Mack really moving inside?

Meh, I’m not investing any more time or money here personally. I think Garrett could be just fine.

Between Keenum, the new coaching staff and the slice of humble pie he was served last season, I think Baker will put his best foot forward.

I think expecting to upgrade from Hubbard at this point is probably unrealistic.  He’s not great, I get it, but I think people discount how tough it is to find a good tackle.  I don’t see anyone walking in off the street and beating him out tbh.  Based on his contract restructuring, it doesn’t seem like the Browns do either.

A guy who’s played multiple positions and has multiple years of starting experience is a pretty nice 3rd tackle tbh.

Yes, agree here.

Id imagine we draft a guy next year for this though.  Anyone we bring in this year is likely just a placeholder.

Next years draft will be about us preparing to pay Myles and let some guys go.

Sheldon Richardson is candidate #1 to get cut. I imagine Njoku won’t be brought back.

Our salary cap is sitting pretty enough that we can make 1 more big signing (Clowney?) and that’s it.
