I really liked JJ class act, solid player and good teammate. Caught the ball always with his hands. Dropped that gimme in the SB among others, but had some catches that guys just don't make either. 2012 when he had 14 TD catches was great never saw that coming from him at all. I can't remember all of them but he just did make some great catches, mostly a great teammate though.

One thing I will remember which wasn't his best was the one night I made it to GB to actually watch a game live. 2007 Sunday night in Oct against the Bears. Up at halftime 17 - nothing and lose 27-20 and JJ had to bad fumbles which cost us points. Not to say BF and others didn't assist in the loss but it's the one game i really remember him from.

Still though a solid contributor and a true GB Packer never complained or pissed and moaned in the media. Spoke highly of all his teammates and coaches. He would be one of those guys that may make a good WR coach someday.

Very solid contributor for 6-7 years from a 3rd round pick.   Class act and seemed like a true professional on and off the field.

Wish him well in his post playing career

Think he is joining NFLN!! Which is awesome, he will probably always be slightly biased with the Pack!

2007 GB-DEN Favre OT bomb game.. that play earlier in the game when Jones had that ~80 yard touchdown where he crossed the field. that's my favorite james jones moment over the years. that 3/4 game streak where he returned to GB and was balling out of his mind on deep balls was fun too. crazy to see guys retire and you got to see their whole career. got that feeling w/ hawk and this is really the only other time where it's like damn i remember being mad when they drafted him & now he's done and had a solid career. pretty wild.

Love James Jones, but these "retirements" always bug me like a guy trying to grab headlines one last time. It's a whole quit vs fired type thing. He was out of football in 2016 and no one brought him in this year either. He didn't choose to retire. The NFL retired him already.

That's one way to look at it.  He was a solid player.  Not sure how many headlines he's grabbing.  This retirement won't be big news around the league.  It is of note for Packer fans probably because when Jordy went down he came in and caught TDs.

My favorite memory of Jones was the 2010 Giants game.  He did catch a short TD pass and had a few other catches in the game but after the game I met him in the Casino.  He was a very humble kid and almost seemed intimidated by the attention he was getting.

Great draft pick, better player.  I think he got the most out of his athletic ability.

I don't have one signature play of his, but I remember a guy who got deep often and scored TD's.  And he was never fast, but dang he got deep.

Class act, wish him the best!

Thanks JJ, enjoy retirement! Probably one of the best third round picks in the TT era, along with Burnett and Finley.  He never was a burner, but he caught pretty much everything thrown his way. He was a savior during the 2015 season when Jordy went down, coming in and stabilizing the receiving core when we desperately needed it.
