We're at the point where we are going to protect Kevin O'Connell because we are afraid to lose him. No one will take the job knowing they can't pick their coach and have full control, so KOC is now the head coach. Then, because there aren't any other options, Rob Ryan gets promoted to defensive coordinator. With Alex Smith under center, and because the league has no idea what to expect from KOC, the Redskins will start 6-2 but stumble to 8-8. Bruce and Dan are giddy that their QB choice paid off for part of the season.
