Yup. It's happening.

Anthony DiComo:  Source: The Mets plan to make Carlos Beltrán their next manager.

I don't hate it.

Once it got narrowed down to only first time guys then **** it, go with the guy who knows the city. They're all puppets for Brodie who by extension is a puppet for Jeff, might as well get Beltran back cause we love him.

Not that I know how well the guy can manage - but I like the guy - and for no known reason would have been okay if the NYY had tabbed him when they hired Boone. Not that i wanted him over Boone - but both were unknowns at the time and I figured Beltran would be able to relate to the players well. I hope the organization stands behind him with some rational moves.

Plus with that new idiotic 3 batter minimum rule you minimize a lot of BP decision making for guys.

To be honest, I dont mind this rule and dont think it'll rock the boat a great deal. So they're cutting out the "specialists" a bit - or demanding they build up their skills more. I'm not a fan of continual "tweaking" - but think this'll be minor change that will become invisible in just a few months - or once the announcers and social media stop blabbering about it.

Did Cole cost himself money with that Boras hat stunt?

It just seems so different than his counterpart(s) on the Nats. Scherzer, Strasburg, and Corbin didnt care when they pitched. Hudson and Doolittle couldn't have been more chill about who is the closer.

Just seems so odd that moments after that he flips that hat on.

Jon Heyman:  Nats want to keep Strasburg and word is they are willing to give him a nice annual raise from $25M per year. The question could be the years but it’s believed the sides are going to work on it right away. Strasburg side’s comps: teammate Scherzer (210M, 7 yrs) Greinke (206.5M, 6)
