Wouldn't surprise me.

Peter King interview with McCarthy ==>

I didnt find this super useful. Half the interview is about how to handle being fired. I did find it interesting that he started out in analytics in 1993.

idk. McCarthy seems like a pretty solid candidate to me. I mean, his willingness to self evaluate, adjust, and work on weaknesses within your coaching is big plus, imo. He seems to have invested a lot into analytics as well.

I don't hate it by any stretch.

Marvin Lewis though.....that's an LOL. If it revolves around the idea of coaching the defense, then maybe. Otherwise, not on board with this at all.

I think the club believes they have the pieces in place and McCarthy could be the guy to get them to take the next step.  Im surprised more than anything.  I was leaning towards Campbell or Roman.

Lewis?  Zero playoff wins says it all.  Solid DC though.

Agreed about McCarthy. He also seemed so unwilling to adapt and change up his offense. Isnt that what we have had with Garrett?

Now supposedly he has done some reflecting and changed somethings with the year off,  but I rather not roll with McCarthy.

I can agree with this. A forever evolving NFL especially on offense a coach who is set in his ways isn’t a good start. Need a little more vision and creativity for me.

Maybe Lewis could be to _____ offensive coach, as Wade Phillips is to Sean McVay?

There is nothing wrong with Lewis' defensive pedigree.  His 2000 Ravens set the record for fewest points allowed in a 16 game schedule didnt they?

I'm getting way ahead here but Im thinking about McCarthy/Lewis vs Rivera/Del Rio.

I’m definitely keeping an open mind when it comes to Lewis.  His work In Baltimore was exceptional.  He made the Bengals relevant for a few seasons.  But, the Bengals are the Bengals and no head coach can fix that mess completely.

As a DC yes.  HC?  Those zero playoff wins stick out like a sore thumb.
