Need to get this back up so we can get through all 32 before draft night. Hopefully FA won't change the order too much.

Same rules as before, pick a different player from each poll - or select 'Leave Blank' in polls 2 and 3 if you wish. 3 pts for a 1st poll pick, 2 for 2nd poll and 1 for the 3rd poll. No run-offs.

I honestly don't think Patricia would know what to do with Simmons. Okudah would be the far more valuable piece for his scheme.

Quite surprising take. To me it seems Patricia's D is perfectly suited for hybrids like Simmons. There are at least 20 other teams who imo would have no clue how to deploy Simmons to the best of his ability. And don't get me wrong, Simmons will be a good player in any scheme. The question is will he turn into a good, great, or maybe generational player. This will largely depend on the coach and defensive scheme he ends up with.

Obviously with Slay gone, Okudah seems like a no-brainer at #3. Don't forget about Trufant though. Amani Oruwariye has basically shown already in limited playing time he can handle CB2 duties. Simmons is my dark-horse #3 pick to the Lions!

Oh yeah Simmons would be good in any scheme. It's just he's not built like the linebackers Patricia traditionally likes which are larger than league average. The hybrid players he's had success with have alternated between outside rusher and linebacker. Although I think Simmons can do a lot of that, he would probably be more of a box coverage guy in Detroit, someone he can man up on tight ends.

It's still a pressure based defense, so a lock down man corner is what makes that whole scheme tick. So that's why I think Okudah is where they would go here.
