Word is...If Madrid ups their individual bid for Courtois up to 40 mil, they'll take it and I'm guessing they'll assume  they'll find one.

I know Allisson is younger and a great keeper but Courtois isn't a slouch and can be had for 20 mill less? Has to be because of the expiring contract.

Courtois is determined to move to Madrid after his contract is done. He's stated a few times he wants to be closer to them and his ex. Thus his potential destinations are basically Atleti or Real.

Exactly....So Chelsea is going to try to make money off of him instead. He holds all the cards.

Modric to Inter rumors seem to have some legs. What has gotten into the Serie A all of a sudden? Some major moves happening. A Naingollan/Brozovic/Modric midfield would be one of the best in Europe.

Selling Modric and Ronaldo without bringing in like-for-like replacements would suggest they're basically punting this season and trying to start a new cycle and selling the oldest of their stars so that guys like Isco, Asensio, and Kovacic can move into bigger/starring roles. Outside of Courtois seems like they're basically keeping the powder dry, maybe saving it all for next summer when one of Neymar or Mbappe, plus Kane, maybe a new manager, etc. are all somewhat more gettable.

This may be one of the weakest years for Spain in some time.

Messi and Suarez are aging, but still outstanding. They're still an elite squad, but not to the levels that they have been over the past decade.

Real Madrid without Ronaldo and Modric would be much worse in the short-term.

Atleti don't have an elite squad, but could very well contend for La Liga if the top two come back to the pack a little bit.

Apparently Meyer is signing a contract worth like £150k a week. Which is insane.

Daily Mail is reporting £170k p/w O.o

I guess they're the only suckers willing to buy into his (and his agent's) ridiculous demands
