He went to his CB and radioed the town. Miguel held Val down so Val could grab the CB radio. Burt: What's the hell's going on over there. Why is everyone on the roof? Val: Burt, there are things under the ground. Monsters. They come up and drag you under. Get the CAT, attach it to the trailer, and pick us up. Burt quickly got the CAT, attached it, and headed toward town. The buildings were starting to crumble. Burt started picking up the town members one by one in the trailer. Everyone was picked up except Mindy and Nancy. Suddenly, the building that Mindy and Nancy were on collapsed. Noooo!!!! Val jumped off the trailer and ran to help. Suddenly the graboid emerged from the ground. "Take Mindy", Nancy yelled. Val quickly picked up Mindy and carried her to the trailer, as the graboids pulled Nancy under the ground. "Mommmy" Mindy screamed. Val tossed Mindy into the trailer, and all-together, they headed off to Bixby, and they hoped...safety. @Whicker is dead. The graboids soon gave up, and it was smooth driving unimpeded. Val, Burt, Nestor, Miguel, Rhonda, Old Fred, Mindy, and Melvin were all that was left of the town. Burt was passing out guns to everyone, except Melvin. Melvin: Come on, give me a gun. Burt: I wouldn't give you a gun if it was World War 3. Soon, they saw some cloud of dust way in the distance. Val: What the hell are they up to? Burt: I don't care what they are doing, as long as they are doing it way over there. They drove along, and then suddenly, the CAT fell into a big sinkhole, and stopped moving. Val: Damn, they made a trap. Rhonda: They are going to be coming Burt lit a dynamite stick and tossed it. When it exploded, the graboids fleed in the other direction. Miguel: There's some rocks over there. We can make a run for it. Melvin: I'm not running anywhere with those things out there. Burt (hands Melvin a pistol): Maybe this will make them think twice. Melvin, overjoyed, takes the gun. Rhonda: Okay, we throw one more dynamite stick over there to scare them, and then we run like bastards. Burt lights the fuse and throws the dynamite stick. Boom! The graboids take off and everyone runs for the rocks. After a few seconds, they start coming back. Melvin notices this, and stops where he is. One of the graboids pops out of the ground, and Melvin starts firing at it. Click, Click, Click. "You ******* Burt" Melvin yells as the graboids take him under. The rest of the group make it to the rocks.
