Ravens S Earl Thomas sent home from team; Released

#Ravens star safety Earl Thomas was sent home from the facility Friday following a fight with teammate Chuck Clark, per sources. A situation to monitor.

My understanding is the #Ravens told Earl Thomas to stay home today after sending him home Friday following the practice altercation with teammate Chuck Clark. No decisions yet on his status, but keeping Thomas away for now buys time for Baltimore to evaluate its options.

Wants to come to Dallas and is pulling an AB

i think this is tongue in cheek?

Anyway, has thomas become average enough that the ravens rather try to get out of his contract and lose him? ALthough it does say something that (some of) his teammates dont really seem to like him.

Hard to say

He wanted to come to Dallas since he was a Seahawk, Cowboys lollygagged when he was a FA and he ended up jumping at the big offer from the Ravens

Don't know how much he has left, but if's hes unhappy in Baltimore, AB wrote the playbook on how to get out and still get paid

no, thomas isnt trying to get out. No one is paying him close to what he has locked in, and hes been pretty honest about wanting to get paid the type of money hes making now.

Leave a potential SB contender for a team that didnt make the playoffs last year?

A lot of players don't actually care about the superbowl, the playoffs, or actually winning

Most just want to get paid, and do as little work as possible, while trying to secure the biggest contract they can

you know if he gets released he gets to keep his guaranteed $$ right?

He has 32 million guaranteed when he signed last year. Not bad for 1 year work, no?

Not if they release him for "Conduct detrimental to the team", which is exactly what they will claim if they release him.

I'd rather ship him to Houston for 3 1st-round picks, personally.

They can "Claim" that all they want

AB still got paid from both the Raiders and the Patriots

Hence "AB wrote the Playbook"

Ravens knew what they were getting when they signed Thomas. He's done nothing to warrant a conduct detrimental to the team charge. It would just be a way for a team to get out of a mistake they made in free agency. They should be on the hook for the guarantees.
