Where could a site be where it would be neutral for all teams? Los Angeles probably is a good bet for one conference with that stadium, turf, California protocols, and access to resorts. Dallas would be a good bet too. Considering the fact that players have an increased likelihood of injury on turf, I hope not. Would prefer a site with natural grass. ET80 Posted October 7, 2020 Share Posted October 7, 2020 Houston had NRG, TDECU, AVIVA, Minute Maid Park (which can be retrofitted for football) Rice Stadium (which once hosted a Super Bowl) and HBU Husky Stadium - so there's ample areas to use. You're literally taking about upwards of a 100+ people per team when you include Coaches, Trainers, doctors , staff, ect.. Not 15-25 like the NBA, 100+. Now times that number by 14 teams (Playoffs) , refereeing, announcers, stadium personnel, television personnel and tell me how or what location could a bubble be created for 2,000+ people? Have enough fields up to NFL standards? Hotels, food, transportation? How about the hundreds if not a 1,000 people at those establishments Hotels, ect? The NBA has how many players on a roster/practice squad whatever it's called in the NBA? 15? Three assistant coaches can sit on the bench? Two training staff? You're talking 25 people per team roughly without getting into extra people. The NFL is twice that on its roster size alone. Let's be generous. 30 people in the NBA bubble per team. 660 people. No. Quote A MLB roster is broken down into 40 and 25 man rosters. The 25-man roster is going to be a group of active players that are playing for the Major League team. Premise: Each season is based off 6 divisional games, 4 inter conference game’s, 4 out of conference games, and 2 placement games. Solution.... phased bubbles. Phase 1: Inter conference bubbles 4 bubbles consisting of 8 teams in each. IE, the AFC East and the AFC West are one bubble where over 4 weeks all the teams play each other. Same with the AFC North and AFC South, etc. 1 week bye Phase 2: Outer Conference Bubbles 4 bubbles 8 teams. Same idea as the last time except in this case it will be divisions matched up with the division outside the conference that they are paired with. IE the AFC East and NFC West are one bubble and the NFC South and AFC West are matched up. 1 week bye Phase 3: placement bubbles. 8 bubbles, 4 teams in each. You play the teams that finished in the same spot in the conference within their division. IE all 1st place teams, all 2nd place teams, etc. this will only last two weeks 1 week bye Phase 4: Divisional Bubbles The year finishes out with 8 bubbles with the 4 teams of a division in each. This will last 6 weeks and comprise of the regular season ending with divisional races that will be the most impactful to playoff placements Regular season ends. It took 19 weeks and you had 3 league wide byes in the middle to give players a rest and the league time to reconfigure bubbles Liz —————— Playoffs: 2 bubbles. An NFC and AFC one.
