cowboysdreamer
Tremaine Edmunds, Vita Vea are probably gone @ the 19th pick so it wouldn't surprise me if the Cowboys have Will Hernandez penciled in as their top priority pick to help jump start this offensive line. Doug Free was the one that through the monkey wrench in to bring down the quality of the Cowboy's 2017 version of the offensive line because Ronald Leary was already signed in free agency with the Broncos when Free announced he was retiring and the Cowboy's had to scramble to plug in holes which took a long time to gel together. So if the Cowboys still feel that the strength of this team is the offensive line and run game , they need to retool again and Hernandez and Wynn probably won't get past the first 5 picks in the second round. We just don't need any folks. Last year was deeper. This year has a lot of 1st rounders. If Oliver or Ward drop to the 2nd they need to be under serious consideration. I don't care how much you like Cheeto and Lewis. The other 2 have serious starting and elite cornerstone potential.

I think DT is the obvious one. I think a role playing WR (IE not a #1) - I consider last years class more top heavy. RBs are insane in terms of starting potential. Interior OL also seems really deep. There are also a ton of QBs that will likely go round 1. I am curious if this will be one of the drafts with the most number of total QBs drafted. I'd probably go with... 1. DT 2. RB 3. CB 4. WR 5. DaBoys
Harold Landry is becoming more and more my favorite prospect. matt79511
I threw out Landry and Hurst as possibilities for us in the mid-first months ago- which means I'm months if not years behind scouts, but still. Nice to see they're factoring more and more in the discussion. Either one might only play 1/3 the snaps as rookies as a new LG might, but IMO, there's no better way to meaningfully change this team's short and long-term outlook than loading up on pass rushers. Realistically, we don't have that much on the DL beyond our Top 4, barring something unexpected for Taco or Tapper or Randy Bobandy. Moreover, Collins and Crawford fit best at the positions that Irving and Lawrence occupy, respectively, so that tells me that two out of those four should really be rotational pieces, too. Stephen Jones has stated that reloading our D-line is an offseason priority, and I don't take him for a liar, so we should be intrigued to see how this plays out. Rtnldave
As to not target 1 specific position and keep it open to a myriad of BPA BUT also including positions of need, I see our top priority as: 1: OL/TE 2. OL/TE/LB 3. DT/LB/WR 4. DE/DT/WR 5. Depth and project players. I know this is a copycat league. And I know everyone thinks the way to win is the new RPO offense etc. But I am still a firm believer in the style of offense we run. Besides, our team is basically already set up for it. Strong running game, massive O line, set up the passing game, ball control offense. With that said, OL is paramount followed by a TE that plays more like a WR. Witten is the man, but he cannot separate and he is getting slow. Dak has to develop HIS go to guy.
