The big picture, dude! You have to look at it all meta, duh.

We're gonna save all this money and invest in in the (nonexistent) top guys on defense! That OL was, like, old and stuff. We're gonna snap our fingers and have a fully functional OL because "reasons" and "logic". And Ritchie is gonna come back, but we're gonna be younger, and he's going to be happy and something something Good something something. So yeah, bro, we're good. Just chill. We've obviously improved every year under Gruden, so, gosh, just breathe! Think logically. Read the stars. Your aura is off today...

Thank God ronjon1990 is here.  Gotta read the auras everyone.  Gotta smell the stars.

So we should ignore terrible team management and be blissfully ignorant like yourself and other homers who convince themselves this inept organization is going to magically pull off a winning season? In the AFC no less where they are among the least talented rosters.

Yes.

i mean, if you had to guess... 10 years from now, how are people going to look back at the Gruden 2.0 era?

its hard to imagine it being fond memories

Really depends on what we do the next 2 seasons.

He took over a 6-10 team and gutted the roster when he got here by trading Mack & Coop.

Finished 4-12 in season one and has improved the next 2 years to 7-9 & 8-8.

So yeah if we end up with a downward trend the next 2 seasons i would expect the Gruden 2.0 era to end.

But if we move up to let's say 10-7 is it really that bad in that case from a game wins perspective?

18 years of losing will do that to a fan base. There is currently nothing to be optimistic about with the direction of Gruden 2.0. He was suppose to take over JDR's 12 win squad and start molding it into contender. Instead, it's year 4 and he has more roster holes than he did in 2018.

Bad drafts, bad signings, bad trades, bad coach management.... nothing has gone right in his revival.

Still extremely early in the off-season, let’s wait to see how the OL shapes out. I believe we’ve already replaced Agholor with Brown and got a major boost in our pass rush with Yannick. The OL purge was coming sooner or later and it just happened to be this year when the cap didn’t go up. Sucks to lose Rod, but Gabe has been on the chopping block around here for awhile, and now that he’s gone we don’t know how to act?

I’ll base this off-season on how we finalize the OL, and if we can get better at DT and FS, along with the aforementioned Replacing Agholor and what is probably going to be our biggest signing in Yannick.

Guys come off as homers by defending against all the constant overreaction. No one has mentioned the playoffs, some of us just choose to see how it plays out instead of rushing to judgement. This damn forum almost blew up because Penn signed a one-day to retire a Raider for Christ’s Sake.

Last thought on the Oline subject. Look around the league. Oline play is terrible everywhere. Only a handful of teams have reliable Olines. QBs are more mobile now which hides issues for some teams.

Some of you make it sound like it's so easy... just sign some FAs and draft a couple guys. Start a converter OT at C who's done nothing. Give that 4th round pick a shot.

All this adds up to having an average to below average Oline. Carr can't operate behind average. He'll revert to being skittish and trigger happy. You're risking a lot blowing up you Oline to this extreme.

Were we not just complaining about how much assets were poured into the OL? Can’t have it both ways.

Seriously lol.  I really wish I could just do a forum search of the people complaining about how much we spent on the OL just to see if the same people are complaining about all these OL cuts.

people defending the fact that grudock created a gaping hole at center while only giving ~2 mil in cap space to replace it.

all offseason we had been talking about how we have to draft all defense, but now we have put ourselves in a position where we are going to spend multiple early day picks on OL
