Nice to see that the NFL is adopting the policies that they should have adopted from the beginning instead of the carrot dangling and shaming strategy. The vaccine is fantastic at preventing serious illness and death but your still very capable of acquiring and spreading while vaxed. Their strategy was void of science.

People shouldn’t get the Johnson & Johnson Covid-19 vaccine when the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna shots are available, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Thursday.

The recommendation, from CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky, came hours after members of the agency's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices voted in favor of the guidance. The panel convened following an update from the Food and Drug Administration on the risk of rare but potentially life-threatening blood clots linked to the Johnson & Johnson vaccine

That's gonna be such a death knell to the J&J. If I am any org giving shots I follow that guidance to the letter and dont offer J&J until/unless there is no other choice.

@incognito_man I logged into Twitter today and immediately got hit with Peter McCullogh's recent Joe Rogan Experience appearance. So I think we've solved the mystery of why every self-proclaimed "independent thinker" has decided to latch on to this idiot.

He's currently D1.5 into a month long ban.

WHO adds ninth vaccine to Covax repertoire.

The vaccine known as Covovax, or NVX-CoV2373, is safe and effective, with benefits that “far outweigh” any risks, the agency said in a statement. The vaccine is produced by the Serum Institute of India under license from Novavax.

South Africa’s health minister said the latest covid outbreak fueled by the omicron variant appears milder, and the government believes that vaccines and past infections could be contributing to this.

U.S. stockpiles monoclonal antibody for when omicron variant becomes dominant.

The decision to pause every-other-week shipments to states of the treatment, sotrovimab, shortly after Thanksgiving is part of a broader strategy to marshal the most effective tools to combat omicron, according to David Kessler, chief scientific officer of the White House covid-19 response team.

Omicron represents an estimated 3 percent of coronavirus cases in the United States, but in some states it is estimated to make up 13 percent of all cases, Rochelle Walensky, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said Wednesday. Some hospitals are reporting even more concerning figures: At Houston Methodist, omicron grew from 13 percent of cases to more than 30 percent in four days. In New York, the percentage of positive tests doubled in three days — a key sign of accelerating spread.

Dr. Anthony Fauci:

“Our booster vaccine regimens work against Omicron.” “At this point, there is no need for a variant-specific booster.”

That sounds like a good thing. Unless you think they should be making a variant specific booster.

When they adapted it, the vaccine was extremely effective against infections and against spreading the virus with regards to the original strain and Alpha. Even against Delta, your chances of getting infected were smaller than the unvaccinated, thus better preventing spread. Other things included less transmission level despite the same viral load as well as the virus clearing your body sooner. It was the right decision to push everyone to be vaccinated because it was the best way to go back to normal.

Obviously, things have changed with Omicron. So the NFL should adapt accordingly.

I was fine. Didn’t have any issues with the first two shots though besides some body aches and headaches. This was Pfizer.
