This is interesting. He was listed as 6’5” and 215 on the Maverick’s team page.

He is listed as 230 pounds in this article:

According to Chris Tomasson, the Vikings are moving the 6'5", 230-pound Zylstra to tight end. He'll try to follow in Adam Thielen's path as an undrafted star from Mankato to make the Vikings and develop into an impact player.

Either way, he’s gonna need to bulk up.

I think it is reflective of those that actually signed with an agent, not necessary those that just became ineligible for NCAA play, as there's going to be far more players that became ineligible for NCAA play.

As far as the number of players that teams have draftable grades, that's certainly going to vary from team to team, but one number I heard is that many teams this year only had about 150-200 players even draftable out of the ~650 that signed with an agent.

For me, my statements are purely made from a logic standpoint.  It only makes sense logically that in a smaller class of eligible players, those that don't get drafted are going to be even worse than typical UDFA players, because some of those 1300+ that didn't become eligible to be drafted would have surpassed those that did get drafted this year.  And so it holds, that some of those that ended up being drafted this year (especially, if you think about it from the perspective of those 150-200 draftable players) wouldn't have even been drafted in a normal year and they would have ended up as UDFAs, pushing some of those that signed as UDFAs this year out completely (not necessarily all of them, but I imagine a great portion of them).

I have lists and have been doing this for 20+ years, each year I mark the UDFA guys on my position rankings and the drafted guys.  Sure a few more than usual but no way the UDFA guys this year are that awful compared to years previous.  Sure not as many because not as many small school guys declared because of the extra year given by the NCAA, the season starting in the spring or just the fact of the uncertainty of it all they just returned to school.  So yeah less small school guys got a chance or were seen and more larger school guys who were boarderline guys just returned as well.

Either way it is not some awful UDFA based on the guys who fell.  Jonathan Adams and Sage Surratt are not awful WR prospects, both could start at times for the Lions next year as could a few others if given an opportunity.  But sure it was a slightly different draft but it was a 50-75 player change, just went through the list again and found out more guys who I thought were in this draft but actually returned to school.

Jake Hansen
Jahad Woods
Viane Moala
Brandon Drayton
Myles Jones
VaDarius Cowan
JD Spielamn
Kekoa Crawford
Bryce Witham
Austin Deculus
Brandon Pili
LD Brown
JK King
Thomas Hennigan
Hunter Johnson
Jackson Anthrop

Puts it up to around 58 guys on my lists that in a normal year would have their college career over and had to either make it in the NFL draft, UDFA or be done with football basically.  So yeah that swings things a bit around but not changing things in the 1000s or anything like that.

I would be shocked if 650 players actually signed with an agent, that means an agent paid them money?  How much was that for a guy with no chance at the league and that would be about 150 of those 650 players if not more.   I call BS if some thought only 150 would be drafted?  Sure they thought that maybe because some did not play last year, some played only a half season, many were not able to be interviewed, there was no combine, they maybe did not believe the pro day numbers and did not get to put their usual work in....  Still no freaking way this draft class was so bad only 150 of the what 350 guys or 400 guys drafted or signed as UDFA are NFL prospects.  There is plenty of talent in the group just was an odd way to get all the info for many organizations I am sure.

Asim "A.J." Rose, RB, Kentucky

RAS (7.49): https://relativeathleticscores.com/ras-information/?PlayerID=20852

"Rose has a top-shelf profile off the field, having achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and serving as a guest speaker for the local Boy Scout troops in his spare time."

Uphill battle to make the roster as RB4, perhaps he impresses enough to land on the PS?

Whop Philyor, WR, Indiana

RAS (1.67): https://relativeathleticscores.com/ras-information/?PlayerID=19053

"Philyor, who earned the nickname “Whop” at a young age for his affinity for Burger King’s Whoppers, brings creative skills with the ball in his hands and an effective level of burst and explosiveness in the open field—which has warranted Indiana scheming him a slew of different looks to manufacture touches and get him the football."

If I had to pick one UDFA to make the roster Whop would be it.

Myron Mitchell, WR, UAB

Did not qualify for RAS score: https://relativeathleticscores.com/ras-information/?PlayerID=19106

Height - 5117
Weight - 189
Bench - 7
Vertical - 34
Broad - 1004

"For an NFL offense that likes to spread the field and get three and four receivers on the field with consistency, Mitchell is an appealing option to provide depth in addition to providing some value in the return game."

Having drafted Nwangwu and Smith-Marsette in part for their return abilities Mitchell will be competing for that last WR spot with quite a few other candidates. Did we keep 5 or 6 WRs on the final roster last year?

Blake Proehl

RAS (8.57): https://relativeathleticscores.com/ras-information/?PlayerID=20619

“People ask me who I model my game after, and I say Adam Thielen,’’ Blake said. “I love how he’s a student of the game, and I love his route running.’’

He'll get to work with Adam in training camp. Like the other UDFA WR's Proehl is a longshot to make the roster. Practice Squad spots are at 12 this year and will jump to 14 in 2022. Son of Ricky Proehl (former NFL WR) and his brother Austin is a WR for the 49ers.

Zeandae Johnson, DE, Cal

RAS (2.69): https://relativeathleticscores.com/ras-information/?PlayerID=19038

"The Spun: What’s your best quality?

ZJ: I would say my motor. A lot of plays I made at Cal were effort plays. Something that goes along with my motor is my intelligence. I’m able to recognize formations, players’ tendencies and things of that sort. I don’t think there were too many screen passes that got caught my way in 2020 or 2019. I’m proud that I can hang my hat on those qualities when I need them."

Much like the WR room spots are at a premium in the DL room. Potential PS player with an uphill battle to make the final 53.

I think Whop has the best chance as well unless they dip into FA to add someone like DeDe which I hope they do.   I really wished we could have added TJ Vasher as a UDFA but it wasn't to be

I believe that puts the roster at 84 players

If that's the case, then I wonder if they'll even bother going to 90.  Otherwise, maybe they'll bring in some veteran minimum players in FA who haven't signed anywhere.

And it's nice to see that they signed a P as well as the K and LS known about earlier.

I’m certainly expecting a couple. Spielman mentioned about another wave of free agency.

I’d like to see Golden Tate brought in as WR3.
