Aaron Rodgers officially begins holdout by skipping Packers mandatory mini-camp

You failed to read. He turned down a restructure because he wants an extension.

And yeah there's no hyperbole. Just simple math. Rodgers could EASILY earn another $200 million in NFL money. He could play another 7 seasons until he reaches Brady's age. He obviously thinks he can keep playing that long. That's less than $30mil per season right as the cap is about to sky rocket in a couple seasons.

Pull your head out of the sand, man.

Maybe you should learn more about your team and the situation friend:

The Packers have offered to extend Rodgers' contract, sources told ESPN.

On Monday afternoon, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said on that network that the two sides have been talking over the past few weeks. Rapoport says that the Packers have offered Rodgers a “significant, long-term contract extension,” which would seemingly address one of Rodgers’ primary concerns — his future as the team’s starting quarterback.

Just stop dude. I know the situation lol. You don't even know what you are arguing about at this point...

What are you even pointing out and arguing? You're not pointing to articles that support my overall point that Rodgers wants to play MORE.

He turned down a restructure (almost certainly with voidable years like we did every other contract this off-season) because he wants longer and more guarantees here and wants to keep playing.

That Arod does not want to play for your team and will force the Packers hand.

Maybe so, but it doesnt seem like its with your team. Which it appears he is willing to throw $100k away this week to prove that point.

Links? Its getting a bit old that you keep throwing out opinions and not backing any of it up with some sort of link/source/educated opinion article.

You literally just provided the links yourself, man. You are not following the situation. Rodgers badly wants to keep playing in GB and end his career here on his own terms, like 5-6 years from now probably. His entire angle was/is to get s contract that keeps him in GB through the entirety of Love's rookie contract.

If you think for a second his goal is to leave GB, you haven't paid any attention at all to the situation.

I provided links of him turning down the Packers. How does that show he "badly wants to keep playing in GB"?

"So what transpired that led up to Thursday’s report that Rodgers wants out? NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport says Rodgers’ agent went to Green Bay. Rodgers wanted a contract extension, but Green Bay just wanted to restructure his current deal, which runs through 2023"

If you'd been paying attention you'd have known he and his agent wanted an extension here.

Yes I very much do. Why wouldn't they love Love getting all these reps that Aaron obviously doesn't need?

Because they're too busy feeling anxiety over whether Rodgers will come back. But yeah other than that I think you're right - Rodgers will comply before it costs him any serious money.

Past tense. The rhetoric since has been "not another down in GB"

I think there is zero anxiety for exactly those reasons. They know he will report to TC. He has millions of reasons to.

Meanwhile, they get a good look at Love running with the 1st team. Those are some really really valuable reps for both Love and the staff to analyze.

From your own source:

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Thursday that the reigning MVP "is so disgruntled with the Green Bay Packers that he has told some within the organization that he does not want to return to the team."

So again, what about this says that he "badly wants to keep playing in GB"?

It will be fun to revisit this in a few years ha.

If @Matts4313 is right, Rodgers will be retired or playing for another team.

If I'm right, Rodgers will be playing for GB or another team.

Intelligent people leave their options open. Rodgers has not burned any bridges in GB. It's a coin flip in my kind right now if he gets traded after 2021 or ends up getting a new contract in GB.

The talk about him retiring or being 100% completely done in GB are hogwash. He will not retire and there's a really good chance he still ends up in GB for another 5-6 years.

Time will tell!

Matts is simply going by the reports. He isnt ruling out that they can work something out, but right now that seems unlikely. Matts just simply thought you were being arrogant with your hardline "Packers hold all the cards" which transformed into "Rodgers badly wants to stay". He thought that was a very silly stance.

Anywho - some new news tidbits:

That's fine. I understand the situation and know that the team holds all the cards because the only *potential* leverage Aaron has is the threat of retirement which, under a modicum of inspection, turns out to be a completely empty threat.

Rodgers (and his agents) actions and everything he's previously said indicate he wants/wanted to be in GB badly and have more guarantees. The latest rumors are simply posturing because he didn't get his way and making things public was his only remaining recourse.

Of course the FO (holding all the leverage) didn't blink so nothing happened and probably won't happen until after this season now, on their terms, like it always was going to be :)
