Come to Ybor City. Watch the Rays. Get stabbed.

Thats like saying come to Savannah. Drink beer. Get stabbed. If you stay in a somewhat tight radius youll be more than fine. Theyve been building that area up, its not 10 or even 5 years ago, not sure how recently youve been there but its a pretty cool spot these days. Heck, if they follow the braves plan and build a multiuse complex next door i might say it would be the go to spot that isnt clearwater or some other beachy area.

Savannah is actually a very good comparison. You leave a small radius and you are in a very dangerous area.

Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports that the Red Sox and J.D. Martinez are "moving close to a deal."

Heyman cautions that the contract isn't done yet, but it sounds like there is momentum. The particulars of the possible deal aren't known, but it's been reported previously that the Red Sox had been offering a five-year pact in the $100-125 million range. Martinez would serve as Boston's designated hitter, pushing Hanley Ramirez to first base.

Will be interesting to see if the Red Sox moved at all.  They were the only legit bidders for Martinez, so they would have been bidding against themselves.

Good to see the Boras clients starting to finally come off the board though.

Martinez dumped his long time agent because he told him there's no way he could get a $200 million dollar deal. This off-season must have been a rude awakening to him.

Love the signing for the Red Sox. They absolutely needed to add Martinez to their lineup.

Betts

Benny

Martinez

Devers

Bogaerts

Moreland

Nunez (Pedroia when healthy)

Vazquez

JBJ

Solid lineup with a solid rotation. Can't wait for the season now.
