If Winfield doesn't sit on the route and actually turns and runs, he can at least be in position to contest the catch. But if he played it more conservatively, there's still a solid chance that the Rams get into FG range. Maybe Gay misses again. Baseball teams will give them to groundskeepers. When the Giants won the world series, they gave them to a bunch of previous players who had long since retired. Guy got benched in 2019 for us and has been out of the league since then. He hasn't been a liability the past two games with both our starting safeties hurt.
