Good game, fellas. Y'all had a hell of a year and put up a great fight. I'm scared to see what you can be with Trey Lance's physical talent. Glad we finally figured out a way to pull it out at the end against y'all. Not looking forward to playing y'all again next year. Cheers.

Enjoy the Superbowl win!

Man, our three NFCCG losses have been so brutal.

Lose to the Giants on two muffed punts.

Lose to the Seahawks at the end on a game ending INT.

Lose to the Rams up 10 in the 4th quarter and being unable to get it done at the end.

Being in the NFCCG game 5 times in 11 years is pretty amazing but we have to finish one of these off.

Hey Jay. Ggs baby boy. What a game.

Jimmy G has been so bad in the playoffs. Don't think he's had one good game in the postseason.

I know he was hurt this year but he wasn't in 2020 and was just bad then too.

Jimmy G....535 total yards 2 TD 3 INT this post season.

Just saw Deebo had 1 target in the 4th qtr. Yikes. Didn't get another 1st down after his 12 yard gain.

Aiyuk didn't get much action either. You have to be able to push the ball and when Jimmy did in the first half, we got 30+ yards. But he doesn't do enough of it.

SB all over again. He had two shots at the end to take the team down to score.

I still can't believe how well Trent played with a high ankle against that DL. Special special player.

We have too many elite players to take a step back next season. Hope we can make a move for someone like Gilmore but the key pieces are there. Need to withstand some potential early rocky moments with Lance but come December, the team should be rolling again. I don't want Deebo to get as many carries until late in the year and use him more as a WR as we did to start the season. Aiyuk needs to be a 1k yard WR himself and if we can re-sign Mostert, that would be so clutch.

I'm not too angry off this loss. Had a great chance but fell a little short. Need to be better in the regular season so we don't have to win four road wins in a row to get to the SB.

Tartt missed INT is not what cost us this gm. Yeah it would have taken 3 pts off the board but there was 10 mins still left in the gm. This offense had no rhythm this gm. Especially late. Kyle and Jimmy G led offense only needed 1 TD in the 4th to put it away.

Yep. Called that in the third quarter too. We were going to need one more

Yep. Too many clean pocket double and triple clutches tonight. Maybe that’s the Rams d getting Shanahan for once. Maybe it’s bad Jimmy. Prolly a bit of both. Need the all 22 for that. There were plays where their defensive line made plays, but not too many to get it done with. Just didn’t the ball in playmakers hands enough tonight. On defense, they did what they could. Had to limit big plays. Stood tall and held to 2 field goals down the stretch. Just need more from the offensive side of the ball.

Also, Shanahan with another 2 really frustrating 4th down punts. Possessions matter. Field position matters somewhat less, especially in the modern NFL against quality QBs, where the red zone is your best hope of stopping teams on most drives outside of errant penalties and sacks.

The 49ers punted from:

  • The 50 (Rams 45 before taking a purpose penalty)
  • The Rams 42
  • The Rams 40

Shanahan played to lose.

Yeah, but he's naturally conservative just like McVay. Doesn't make sense but not sure if it will ever change either.

The way the Rams were blitzing through the A and B gaps to stop the run would not be nearly as effective with a running threat at QB. Really can't wait to see this offense once Lance truly gets "it." The offense could be stupid good and carry the team when need be.

Even though he dropped that gimme INT, I really hope Tartt is back. When he is back there with Ward, the communication is just insane and the pass defense usually limits the big plays.

One adjustment I was looking from Ryans was putting Ward on Kupp on money downs and we did not see that for some reason. Really curious to hear why not.

Some of Ambry Thomas' rawness was on display, especially in zone defense and not getting enough depth. But I liked how he competed and he started to shut down the deep throws to the sideline when they were a huge problem for him to start the season.

Before the combine and free agency, but what do you guys prefer to do with our 2nd round pick? Which is going to be like #58 lol.

This. Also him not getting aggressive for a TD before the half. Let 20 seconds go off for a fg. Rams 24 yard line with a timeout. That could have been a huge turn in this gm if we score before and after half. Left those 2 possessions with 3 pts.
