Awesome.

Browns to get two 3rds in 22 and 23.

First time a browns person in the front office has received a promotion too gm I can recall

And Glenn Cook may eventually be the next (who I'd think may get Kwesi's former job now).

Joe Woods won’t be far away from getting HC interviews either. The Browns since coming back have really lead the way with giving minorities opportunities

I'm amazed how well Joe Woods has done as a DC, because he was absolutely terrible as our DBs coach here in MN.

FF Viking fans are pretty unanimously pleased by this move. it's a gamble, hiring a guy with a background in process analyses instead of core football, but we like it.

It's not that big of a gamble, the Ringer actually alludes that NFL teams tend to hire senior scouts with past Super Bowl participants, but those GMs from scouting backgrounds were less successful than GMs with operations and salary cap backgrounds. In the article, Mike Forde, from Sportsology, recommends that "NFL teams should consider a much wider candidate pool when hiring GMs" as opposed to just scouts and cap specialists.

It's the way successful NBA and FC organizations have been hiring. But the NFL has been slow on the up keep.

Mark Wilf: “We are thrilled to welcome Kwesi to the Minnesota Vikings. His unique background, variety of strong football experiences, vision for success and leadership presence immediately stood out to us. Kwesi is naturally committed and driven to building the best teams through consensus building and the pursuit of information. We believe he will immediately make us better as a team and organization.”

Adofo-Mensah: “I am extremely thankful to the Wilf family and the Vikings organization for giving me the opportunity to lead our football operations and join this respected franchise. There is so much to appreciate about this organization — an existing nucleus of talent on the roster, top-notch facilities, passionate fans and smart people throughout the building who are committed to winning. I look forward to partnering with our next head coach and our entire football operations staff to begin our work of bringing a Super Bowl to Vikings fans.”

That would be quite a coup if they could do that, but I'd have to imagine the Eagles would try real hard to retain her.

I like Woods and hope he gets his chance.

The idea behind the compensatory 3rd round picks was to encourage greater opportunity for people of minority status? Is that correct?

49ers GM John Lynch:  "I think the world of him. I think the Vikings — I don't think, I know — they made a tremendous hire. How do I know that? Well, I worked with the guy, and I just got to see firsthand the breadth of all that he brings to the table. I think it starts with the intellect. Obviously he's well-schooled and all of that, Princeton and Stanford for undergrad and graduate, but more so than that, his work ethic, his curiosity to learn different parts.

He was a trader who then got into research and development, analytics. He always hated when we called it analytics. He preferred research and development. Just a very forward thinker, but he wanted to learn about watching football and studying players and did a tremendous job of that."

Browns GM Andrew Berry: "One of the things I told him, even last year when he was going through the process for the first time, is that the interview process, really, is a two-way stree. There are a number of good – whether it's a general manager search or head coaching search – a number of good candidates across the league. But just as much as it's about competency and capacity to be in one of those two leadership positions, it also is about fit. Because the role is different, and the characteristics are different, from organization to organization.

"I could just tell with the way that Kwesi was buzzing after the interview where, in my mind, I was like, 'OK, this is really the right place for him. It seems like it's going to fit like a glove.' "
