Maybe I haven’t paid enough attention to his coaching career, but this seems like a bad hire. Hopefully it works out.

He has been universally praised in his stops by players and colleagues. The only red flag is that he has only seen success working under Arians.

Well and having upper echelon talent to work with on offense

And that’s my main concern. I’d wager most of that success is Brady and Arians.

He coached cardiac Winston to more success than his talent and decision making warranted. Winston set franchise records in 2019 for passing yards and TDs

Take it for what it is but both Brady and Arians say Leftwich was a big part of that success. I’m rooting for the guy, and from an outsiders perspective who doesn’t really care about watching the Jaguars even after drafting Trevor Lawrence I’ll be paying attention more now.
