Not Baker, who still thinks he is a college bro and this is the transfer portal. He did this same thing at Texas Tech when he lost his job to Mills and Mahomes. Got pissy pants and quit. Baker left to get an opportunity to play and you demean him for it? I certainly don’t share your views. Players request trades in pro sports all the time. It’s not unusual or a sign of some defect in the individual requesting the trade. Most people like to be in a position where they see opportunity and feel valued. Baker obviously feels that he’s not valued and not a part of the Browns long term plans. Cleveland looks out for their interests but Baker has to look out for his interests as well. In addition you have no idea of the discussions between Baker and Browns management.
SHONUFF
Baker seized on a great opportunity to get the hell out of dodge. It's a smart move for him, he knows the browns are a perennial dumpster fire. The ways John Schneider pays out on trades they may as well try Seattle.

The person who is currently slotted into that position should not take offense to it. He’s really showing himself as a beta male who’s very sensitive. It’s interesting how many of you are comfortable making assumptions about Mayfield’s character and willing without knowledge of what transpired between Mayfield and management to offer advice and suggestions about how YOU think he should react. How would you know how he’s been treated? You don’t. Your simply making assumptions based on his request. Mayfield has done nothing wrong in requesting a trade. The Browns have a business to run but Mayfield has a career to manage. At the end of the day his decisions will affect him. As history has shown he’s been right in the past when he has taken his future into his own hands. If this is a mistake it affects HIM. I respect his decision to find a situation in keeping with his goals and objectives. It’s pretty obvious at this point they are on different pages so it’s not unreasonable.
Duluther
You can flip a coin 10 times and even if it’s heads all 10 times, the next flip is still going to be 50-50 chance. Just because the Browns have been in QB hell their last 10 before Baker doesn’t mean that their next one will be. So moving on from Baker shouldn’t be criticized in that regard.

He wasnt immediately offered a scholarship for the next year even though Kingsberry said it was coming so he transferred. So instead of staying, earning his scholarship and battling it out with Webb, he left. Sense a trend? Oh btw add Kingsberry to the list of coaches he has beefed with. Davis Mills played at Stanford. Davis Webb played at Texas Tech (and then transferred to Cal). This is a weak criticism. Do you know who else transferred? Joe Burrow, Kyler Murray, and Russell Wilson. (There are other starting NFL QBs too.)

Cleveland might trade him. If they act like they're committed to keeping him, it could possibly drive up his value. Not saying it will, but it could. Plus, who's to say Atlanta would trade Ryan if they miss out on Watson? Easy to honor his trade request when they get a huge upgrade in Watson. Maybe but I also have a lot more respect for Arthur Blank than I do Jim Haslam.
bigbadbuff
Baker did this to himself. He tried to be a hero and play through a shoulder injury. He should’ve shut it down.

Soko
We’re seriously going to sit here and act like a college transfer is quitting? Plenty of guys transfer. It’s a career move and it worked out 100% perfectly for the guy. Baker might have character concerns as far as his maturity goes, but talking about him transferring in college is weaksauce. Browns don’t deserve shade for wanting to get better at QB and Baker doesn’t deserve shade for wanting out of a bum organization. Pending any further stunts by either side? It is what it is.
