So happy we "caved".

Why?  GB was going to have to get rid of him and he only wanted to come here.  GB was trying to stand firm but he was not going to sign.  I do not know what our original offer was but they stated we came back and increased the offer when we new we had pocket aces.  This team never gets good value because we are never capable of walking away.

I don’t have an issue with the value. You think we’re getting a WR anywhere near as good as Adams with either of those picks?

I mean it’s possible, but definitely unlikely.

It was a standoff and McDaniels blinked.  We had all the leverage and we caved.

We didn't have all the leverage - Green Bay could've held onto him until the start of the season, and by that point Zeigler  would have had to address the position (and cap) elsewhere or give up assets in the 2023 draft instead. GB had no issue with his franchise tag since they reportedly offered the same money we did. By getting him now we only give up assets in this draft and ensure he's here learning the new system instead of having to work him in last-minute.

no need to play games with a player we coveted, deals fall apart, situations change all the time. They had the opportunity and made it happen. I get where youre coming from, value is great but at the end of the day its about putting good football players on the field, and we just so happened to get the best at his position, who is also best friends with our QB. Perfect match all around.

thats a great point too, he had money lined up from GB that he couldve easily taken. He wanted to be here, no need to get cute, go get him

I think Adam's game will age well too. He's a bigger WR at 6-1 215 so he'll always have that. Not to mention speed isn't a necessity to his game. Elite hands, arguably the best route runner in the NFL, jump ball specialist.

I just freaking love this.

This is how I’ve felt. He has the make and play style of a receiver who will age very very well. It’s not illogical to think he has a great 5 years left in him.
