The next time you see this dude's name it will be when he's cut.

Actually, I hope the guy legit makes it. Unless Wirtel puts on another 10-20 pounds of muscle in the off-season, I'd rather avoid anymore incidents of him being run over by a guy twice his size leading to a blocked punt.

Sharing this LS information with you @Norm because of your unquenchable thirst for LS knowledge.

1.) The Packers are one of only 5 teams with a competition at the position, 27 other teams are carrying only one LS on their rosters.

2.) Not counting the Packers current LS's, there are 5 teams that have ex-Packers as their current LS's.

Clark Harris, Bengals - was drafted by the Packers in the 7th round in 2007.

Rick Lovato, Eagles - was waived in 2016 after spending 9 months with the Packers.

JJ Jansen, Panthers - was signed as a UDFA by the Packers and spent a year with them before being traded to Carolina for a conditional 7th round draft choice.

Zach Triner, Buccaneers - signed with the Packers in December of 2017 but was waived at the end of TC in 2018.

Taybor Pepper, 49er's - signed with the Packers in January of 2017 but was waived in May of 2017 after the draft.

3.) Only 4 teams have a LS that was drafted by them as a current rostered LS. Only 3 teams have LS's that were original UDFA signings by them that won the job as a rookie and held on to that position. The other 25 jobs will be manned by journeyman who have bounced around before landing their job with their teams.

And rumor has it that Rod Marinelli is going to be hired as a Senior Long Snapper Advisor.

Nice.

Had no idea Clark Harris was still hanging around.

Getting a 7 for Jansen was hilarious at the time. Only because someone on the message board I was on had predicted it and caught a bunch of crap and then it happened.

Also there was a guy all pissed off about it who then made a photoshopped receipt of him buying a Jansen jersey the day before lol

Typical 90-man roster based on the averages for the past 3 years.

QB - 4, RB - 6, FB/TE - 8, WR - 11, OL - 16, DL - 8, EDGE - 8, ILB - 7, CB - 9, S - 8, ST - 5

Current makeup.

QB - 3, RB - 6, FB/TE - 8, WR - 10, OL - 15, DL - 10, EDGE - 9, ILB - 8, CB - 9, S - 7, ST - 5

QB - Aaron Rodgers, Jordan Love, Danny Etling

RB - Aaron Jones, AJ Dillon, Kylin Hill, Patrick Taylor, Tyler Goodson, BJ Baylor

TE - Josiah Deguara, Robert Tonyan, Marcedes Lewis, Tyler Davis, Dominique Dafney, Alize Mack, Eli Wolf, Sal Cannella

WR - Christian Watson, Amari Rodgers, Romeo Doubs, Samori Toure, Allen Lazard, Sammy Watkins, Randall Cobb, Malik Taylor, Juwann Winfree, Danny Davis

OL - David Bakhtiari, Elgton Jenkins, Josh Myers, Jon Runyan, Royce Newman, Sean Rhyan, Zach Tom, Rasheed Walker, Yosh Nijman, Jake Hanson, Cole Van Lanen, Michal Menet, Cole Schneider, Caleb Jones, George Moore

DL - Kenny Clark, Devonte Wyatt, Dean Lowry, TJ Slaton, Jonathan Ford, Jarran Reed, Jack Heflin, Chris Slayton, Akial Byers, Hauati Pututau

ED - Rashan Gary, Kingsley Enagbare, Jonathan Garvin, Preston Smith, Randy Ramsey, La'Darius Hamilton, Tipa Galeai, Kobe Jones, Chauncey Manac

LB - Quay Walker, De'Vondre Campbell, Ty Summers, Isaiah McDuffie, Krys Barnes, Ray Wilborn, Caliph Brice, Ellis Brooks

CB - Jaire Alexander, Eric Stokes, Shemar Jean-Charles, Rasul Douglas, Keisean Nixon, Kabion Ento, Kiondre Thomas, Rico Gafford, Raleigh Texada

S - Darnell Savage, Vernon Scott, Tariq Carpenter, Adrian Amos, Shawn Davis, Innis Gaines, Tre Sterling

ST - (K) Mason Crosby, Gabe Brkic (P) Pat O'Donnell (LS) Steven Wirtel, Jack Coco

The signing of Cannella brings the training camp roster back to the usual number of TE/HB/FB to 8. Interesting that they are light one at QB, WR, OL and S this season and are start two extra on the DL and one extra with Edge and ILB.

And imagine that @Scoremore they are not going to have 15 WR's this year.

Guessing they will have 4 or 5 players starting camp on the PUP, a couple of them could be OL which makes the roster one light at that position an even more interesting situation.

Don't be a duche.  Said they would draft 2-3 WR and probably add a few more.  They did exactly that.

Didn't expect anything less than a crass response and you didn't disappoint.

Wanted to make a pre-preseason-games roster prediction and figured this is the best place to do it without starting a new thread.

Pup: R. Tonyan, E. Jenkins, K. Hill

Offense (25):

QB: Rodgers, Love (2)

RB: Jones, Dillon, Goodson (3)

WR: Lazard, Watkins, Doubs, Cobb, Rodgers, Winfree, Watson (7)

TE: Davis, Lewis, Deguara (H-back and FB too), Dafney (4)

OL: Bakhtiari, Runyan, Myers, Newman, Nijman, Tom, Rhyan, Hansen, Van Lanen (9)

Defense (25):

DL: Clark, Lowry, Reed, Wyatt, Slaton (5)

ED: Gary, Smith, Galeai, Ramsay, Enagbare, Hamilton (6)

LB: Campbell, Walker, Barnes, McDuffie (4)

CB: Alexander, Douglas, Stokes, Nixon, Jean-Charles, Gafford (6)

S: Amos, Savage, Scott, Leavitt (4)

ST: Crosby, O'Donnell, Coco (3)

Notes:

Hamilton made the last spot on the roster over Garvin, S. Davis, P. Taylor, Ento, Ford, Carpenter, Walker, and K. Thomas.

If Tonyan is healthy in time then Dafney gets cut.

If Jenkins is healthy then CVL gets cut.

If Hill is healthy we keep 26 on offense and Hamilton gets the boot.

There are more than 11 bolded starters in each unit because of frequent package changes.

Dime DB is SJC.

OL starters reads LT to RT.

This would be very close to my early prediction as well although I think Davis will make it as the 5th safety and we'll only keep 5 EDGE guys. Preseason is going to be huge for any EDGE player not named Smith or Gary because I still don't see a bonafide No. 3 guy in that group as it currently stands.

Until we get more concrete information regarding the guys coming off significant injuries, I'm assuming they'll all start the year on the PUP list.

QB: Rodgers / Love [2/2]
RB: Jones / Dillon / Goodson [3/5]
WR: Watkins / Lazard / Cobb / Watson / Dobbs / Rodgers [6/11]
TE: Lewis / Davis / Deguara / Dafney [4/15]
OL: Njiman / Runyan / Myers / Newman / Tom /  Rhyan / CVL / Hanson / Walker [9/24]

DL: Clark / Lowry / Reed / Wyatt / Slaton / Ford [6/30]
EDGE: Gary / Smith / Garvin / Ramsey / Enagbare [5/36]
ILB: Walker / Campbell / Barnes / McDuffie [4/40]
CB: Alexander / Stokes / Douglas / Nixon / SJC / Ento [6/46]
S: Amos / Savage / Scott / Leavitt [4/50]

ST: Crosby / O'Donnell / Coco [3/53]

*IF* they hypothetically want another spot for somebody they like, both of your rosters include 9 OL.  *IF* they have somebody else they'd like, they can pretty easily put the 9th OL onto practice squad.  I don't imagine the league is just scrambling to put any of VanLanen, Walker, or Hansen onto their 53-man rosters.  So I think Gute's got some flexibility.

I think you have space for one more, the counts for off at Edge. Very conceivable otherwise. I love the depth of young talent on this roster, I just hope the ones who don't make the roster can all make it to the PS

I could see that, especially since I think of Leavitt as a ST ace more than a realistic option on defense should injuries crop up
