The former second-rounder and Seahawks starter seems to be penciled in to replace J.C. Tretter.

I’d be surprised if he can beat out Nick Harris, who mauled one of the best interior DT last year vs Green Bay. Good depth signing and competition between these two though.

Isn't he awful?

Doesn't matter much anyway. I'm sure he's not getting much and he's got starting experience, so he's at least a decent depth piece. And the Browns have the best OL coach in the NFL and have turned bad players on the OL into studs before, so maybe they can do it again.

Really liked Nick Harris as a developmental center prospect when he came out and was hoping to get him in the 5th round before Cleveland got him.

Excited to see what he can do in his first year as the starter.

He's basically IOL depth. Can play both center and guard if we need him.

Yeah.  Seems like one of those sort of, "6th OLineman" type signings.  Move him around and plug in as needed.  Realistically, probably makes him a starter as teams are never 100% healthy on the OLine.  But i'd wager on more of that sort of fill-in role, than penciling him in as a starting center or anything.
