Jets sub sources say Gute will be sending Bakhtiari and 2nd to the Jets in exchange for the privilege of having his name in the same headlines as Douglas.

Seriously, I could see the Jets wanting him. I’d let them have him and their 2nd for their first. Lol

I think I'm just an alcoholic that has been through the beers and realized that stouts and nitros just don't lend themselves to the quantity I want to consume lol.

Prior to trying my first stout, beer held little appeal for me other than being cheap.  My first stout was a revelation.  Get mine from a local brewer twice a month.  It's not cheap, but it's ******* delicious.

I'd be thrilled will getting anything for him but don't see it with that 20-million-dollar salary he's due. It would have to be a team who did not think they'd be able to get him via free agency and then what's it worth?

The picks were tongue n cheek but I could totally see the Jets going after him. Picks or free agents. Could also see it ending poorly for them with Bak going down again. Just don’t want that to happen here.

Makes keeping Bakhtiari in 2024 a tough one at the cost given the play of Walker and Tom

For me?  I'm hopeful they can get his compensation in line with that of a swing tackle.  Backup.  Spot starter.

But that is just for me.  I'm sure #69 wants to start if he's healthy enough.

I'd love to find a way to keep him, but cap health is more important.  Especially with the draft ammunition that we have.

Not sure Bakh has ever played RT, so the swing tackle idea is hard to get to.

feels like if Walker has improved over the course of the year and continues into 2024, it would be hard to put him on the bench.  Moving on is never easy, but sometimes is the right thing to do

Yah, swing tackle money, not a swing tackle.  That would be Walker.  Bakh would play only LT in my example.  And I'm not sure that is even possible given his current contract.

Dave is smart. He talked about the Packers as ‘they’ and not ‘we’ several months back. He knows the endgame.

Ruettgers, Verba, Clifton, Tauscher, Bulaga…Bakhtiari. Time marches on.

Dave earned his money before he made it, and now there seems to be an inevitability to both sides being a little cold, a little cautious, and a little strategic over the last few dollars. But there won’t be any more playing time. He’s had a moment to think about living with the potential for more pain or less. I think he retires after the cut.

feels like Bahk also was saying a lot of they in the summer and now it is more we.

Maybe it is my interpretation on some of his off season comments and tweets that are viewing him as a player that it is probably better to move on from and into the next chapter.  add a OT and other OL in the upcoming draft and plan for the future.

Walker allowed 6 sacks this year, Bakh has allowed 7, in his last 4500 snaps.

It's easy to put Walker on the bench for a HOF LT, so long as the medicals are trending the right way.

Yeah, he has seemed a little warmer and supportive to the team. He’s a good guy. But if he wants back in as a player, Green Bay can help him find another team. With Walker playing okay, I am more worried about the dollars than having him back.

Well that settled my hash.
Do we really think he’s going to return to elite playing level?

I will take the “L” for a dumb take in exchange for that. But that seems like a stretch.

I would feel confident in saying if Bakh's knee feels good in 2024 that he will be elite in pass pro. How far past that? Not sure, but I think next year would be it in GB, another year for Walker or a draft pick to get stronger and ready to take the job in 2025.

I get that Bahktiari was been a great LT.  Has Walker improved over the last several weeks?  How many of Walker sacks allowed are in the last 6-8 weeks?
