y*so*blu
So, yeah. Heinz Field. Not even bothering with the new name.

43M
This is just reflective of the consistently diminishing quality of this franchise since Art 2 took over.
FinSting
Calm down people, "acrisure" is Spanish for "three rivers."
e16bball
Timing makes sense. The obvious connection with a condiment company just didn’t really exist any longer once Roethlisberger retired. It was simply a perfect fit. Say what you will about the man, but he mustard up so many good explanations that the law could never quite ketchup to him for doing whatever he mayo to any girl he relished. TecmoSuperJoe
One of the downsides of modern era sports is that pretty much every venue now has a sponsor name. One of the hallmarks of the glory days were having league stadiums like Candlestick Park, The Astrodome, Three Rivers Stadium, Riverfront Stadium, Memorial Stadium, Mile High Stadium, Soldier Field, Veteran's Stadium, Foxboro Stadium, etc. Or it was named after a person like Jack Murphy Stadium or Joe Robbie Stadium. Yes most were multi-purpose, and they were all a joke compared modern accommodations now, but at least half the league's fields back then didn't have the corporate stench through it's namesake. Wyld Stallyns
Back in the day, Madden had at least one game where you could sell naming rights to your stadium. Acrisure was probably used in the game.

Guessing most have no idea what Acrisure is. Edited July 12, 2022 by TecmoSuperJoe

It makes some sense though - for the sponsor, naming rights are a great way to get your company's name out there. Everyone knows Pontiac and Heinz already, so the value is less to them.
