Cavaliers Thread: We Somehow Both Don't and Do Suck

I want the Cavs to take Culver or Hunter at 5. After reading and hearing more scouting reports. Those are prolly the smartest picks. So I hope it’s one of those two guys. If it’s a trade down, I hope it’s Reddish

Garland and Sexton = Dame and CJ in 3-4 years if Garland develops a PnR game. Love will still be under contract when they start hitting their stride.

Just heard Jay Bilas compare Garland to Dame on Golic and Wingo which made me think of this.

Still thing Hunter is the safest choice and I expect some team to trade up to 4 to select Garland but for me it’s

1. Hunter

2. Garland

3. White

Tiny backcourt got their butts wrecked against a backcourt with size.

I personally think that Ty Jerome is in the "severely underrated" group and my favorite guy in the "non lottery" group to become a good NBA player that plays for a very long time. He's LIGHTS OUT, he's long, he's smart, he's efficient, he's a good distributor, and solid defender. He's not "overly athletic", but I see a lot of Kirk Heinrich in his game.

Man Hunter has such a low ceiling man

Man no he doesn't man. He's a stud athlete with excellent size. He can shoot the rock as well as anyone as a spot-up shooter and can absolutely lock down anybody outside of true C's. How does he have a low ceiling? Because he isn't a great dribbler or creator of his own offense? I mean, I guess but I'm not taking him off my board because of that. We don't need another ball-dominant player in our offense. We need 1-2 facilitators (Sexton/Love) and then spot-up shooters and defenders.

The Cavs have been atrocious on defense for far too long. How long are we going to continue to ignore that?

I wanted Adams badly in that draft. But what’s he give us?  He’s a damned treadmill piece for us right now.

Agree. He's got a fat contract and isn't getting us over the hump. He doesn't move the arrow in any direction for us other than by eating up some cap space for a few years. I like the player but it doesn't really make sense in the midst of a rebuild.

Read a BS rumor of:

Quote

5th pick to Atlanta, 10th and 12th picks to Cleveland, Kevin Love to Charlotte

That's terrible. I'd be furious if that went down. It doesn't even make sense for us. We lose our best player and a top 5 pick for some later picks? Da F....
