Are the Vikings for real?

The Vikings with Cousins remind me of the NBA Timberwolves with Kevin Love. Nice team with Love putting up all-star caliber numbers racking up the double doubles but you could never take the team seriously when it can to contending for titles.

Cousins give you the pro bowl caliber numbers but we know we can’t take this team seriously when it comes to contending for titles as long as he is the QB.

They have a good run game and their OL didn't look awful until Bradbury got hurt.

I would disagree I guess. Their run game was really poor to start the season. Then got a little better then tanked again. They good running backs but I may have been redundant with the running game and oline issues. Everyone on the interior of their line is replaceable at this point. Bradbury was better this year but he has major anchor issues as seen yesterday and the games agains GB.

He isn't the problem. He's pretty much exactly what Matt Stafford is.

not sure how the 3 most recent examples that cover 3 seasons is "cherry picking". But, if you think so, I guess take it up with the poster who brought it up in the GB forum?

Why have some arbitary cut off time frame and leave off  recent playoff W's vs LA and Seattle? And only the 4th quarter when other games were won before that (Seattle). To cherry pick data to try an prove a point.

And detriot isn't a playoff game because you consider it a de factor one. GB wasn't a playoff team for a reason. They are going through a needed mini rebuild.

you seem sensitive about this.

Rodgers kinda sucks in "win and go home" games. Nobody called Detroit a playoff game except you. So you can feign your outrage about that to yourself, I guess!

The rest, again, I suggest you take up with the OP.

Yea idk why people act like Dalvin is washed. He was still good this year.

He wasnt terrible or anything. He had his moments, but i would hesitate to say he was good. If you take away 2 carries he drops from a respectable 4.4 ypc to a bad 3.9. Obviously if you take away a rb's top runs their YPC is going to drop, but a .5 drop on only 2 carries seems excessive. And it matches what the eye test showed this year

Outraged?  All I did was call out a clearly flawed argument trying to chery pick data to prove a point. Its no secret Rodgers hasn't succeeded greatly in the past couple years playoffs but comparing like 2-3  poor games of Rodgers' to Kirk cousins and his 1 career playoff win is just obtuse.

Sooner or later, luck was going to run out on the Vikings.

I just didn't think it would happen at home against the Giants.

Them's the breaks.  It's weird, you know, seeing this happen from outside of the two teams.

I'd say I feel bad for Vikes fans, but from the few I've seen post....they kind of knew that this day was coming.  It don't think this loss came as a surprise to them.

Where did anyone compare Kirk Cousins career to Aaron Rodgers?

Yikes man. I said "he pulled a Rodgers" where, recently, a "Rodgers" has been folding in "win and go home" games, especially late in said games.

You're super sensitive about this and taking it several miles beyond anything it ever was...

Stafford wouldnt have thrown a 3yd pass on a 4th and 8 with the season on the line. Stafford takes chances. Yes he gets picked off but he also play game-changing/winning plays. As I think Shannon Sharpe said today, its not like Cousins played bad, he just didnt make any high level plays like Jones was making.

And I heard something today that really blew my mind. On that 4th and 8 I heard that Cousins said his first look was Jefferson but he didnt feel comfortable throwing him the ball. Like what??? You will never hear Stafford say that about Kupp. Heck he threw Kupp a no look ball in the Superbowl just to get it to him. You didnt hear ARod say that about Davante. In a crucial drive in the playoffs last season ARod through it into double coverage trying to get it to Davante. With the game on the line you go to your best player and let him try to make a play. The worst that could happen is a bad result but even when Cousins tried to do the "smart thing" it still cost them. So Id rather lose knowing it was trying to go to Jefferson than lose going to Hockenson 5yds short of the 1st down.

So in long no Cousins isnt Stafford. Lets not forget Stafford had O'Connell as OC last season with talent. Cousins have O'Connell with talent. Still the same Cousins. Stafford won the Superbowl.
