  1. 1. What should the Packers do about their defensive coordinator?

    • Fire MLF, he hired him
    • Fire Joe Barry immediately and get somebody who will play aggressive defense
    • MLF should lay down the law with Barry to stop playing not to lose, get aggressive
    • Ride it out and see what happens this season then make a decision
    • Joe Barry is great

Um, for the part they played yes.  Now if you mean 100%, no.  Obviously the offense (OL, WR injuries and Rodgers) had their part, and special teams is still bad too.

But you're crazy if you think the defense, which has been awful in 3rd and 4th quarters, especially against the run, had no role to play in this.  They're not Superbowl level at all, and Joe Barry is wasting the talent as bad as Capers did.

We held them to 3 points and 65 yards in the first half on just 28 plays (2.3 yards per play).  Not the defense's fault that the Packers' offense couldn't sustain a drive at all throughout the game.  This on the offense, particularly the OL.

Happy to see that the defense at least played more aggressive today in the passing game. They were good overall for a half but then fell apart in the run game in the 2nd half. We have a big problem at ILB right now unfortunately.

How good Quay will be is TBD and his movement skills are top notch, but he’s been egregiously  out of position on some of the biggest letdowns.

Not a good sign that after strong first halves opposing teams adjust at halftime and get whatever they want after the break.

Yea offense didn't help today but last 2 games, our defense has faced 7 drives in the 2nd half. Those drives have resulted in 4 TDs, 2 FGs and 1 punt.

I think our big problem is that there's only one of them on the field when we give up big runs.

I just lol at people who point out low passing yards as some sort of indicator that our defense is good.

Lol. You give up 20 points as a defense and you only allowed 110 passing yards and anybody with a brain -like literally anybody that had a functioning brain that has ever had an original thought- would be like…

Okay, how in the **** did we give up 20 points if the QB only passed for 110 yards?

The answer is that if your 50 million dollar QB keeps having offensive drives that last 45 seconds, eventually something is going to break

The long TD run yesterday they were both on the field and 7 overran his gap or it's a minimal gain. Really bad play by Quay.

On good defenses you see 11 guys rallying to the ball every play.

On our defense you simply don't see that.   If 1 player loses his gap it breaks out for a long gain.  We have guys that measure as fast, but over all this defense still plays extremely slow.

We are soft on defense as a whole, with the wrong mentality toward being an overall successful defense.  Seldom do we see players flying around, and the tackling is poor.  The whole is far less than the sum of its parts.

Defense dropped another notch to 24 in DVOA. Had a strong first half against the Jets, but then crumbled in the 2nd half again.

Also, we are officially 32nd in DVOA in run defense. So there's that.

At least this top five defense is leading in something. ....... I remember Barry said a few weeks ago that winning is all that matters. It must be the long game strategy I'm not seeing.

Buried by Joe or bury Joe: I don't think it will fix the deep probs. The only way out I see is to dig deeper and faster: go all all in, remove the brakes, and let's ride. The pain will be easier and shorter that way.

Yeah i saw something somewhere referencing stats like we played a good game. The total game stats dont tell the story. Numbers after 1 half were awful.

I know Quay is a rookie, I’ll give him a break. But Barry, if nothing else, is supposed to be a linebacker whisperer, and that may be our worst defensive group this year.
