  1. 1. What should the Packers do about their defensive coordinator?

    • Fire MLF, he hired him
    • Fire Joe Barry immediately and get somebody who will play aggressive defense
    • MLF should lay down the law with Barry to stop playing not to lose, get aggressive
    • Ride it out and see what happens this season then make a decision
    • Joe Barry is great

Wish MLF would do something like this

Firing a coordinator is a sign of a hail Mary move by a HC. If the Bills don't improve McDermott will be fired by the end of the year, latest within 12 months. MLF will never fire Barry, he knows he puts himself up as a target too

Barry looks very good at coaching the players. He can get any one off the street and get him ready for game day. Good effort and nice tackling.

His main problem stems from his Defensive scheme which is avg at best.

Dom Capers used to run a good scheme, but players always tend to do bone headed mistakes. Worst tackling etc.

I've always wondered why anyone would ever have hired him again after his tenure with the Lions years ago

We can't say we weren't warned.  Fans of teams that had Barry previously were literally offering their condolences when GB hired him.

And the Redskins too .. he was bad there as well.  LaFleur was enthralled with the Staley scheme and had a friendship with Joe Barry.  It seemed he had some tunnel vision toward Barry, and definitely didn't go for the best candidates that were available.  It's a big mark against LaFleur when it comes to hiring coaches.

Probably the weirdest thing about MLF's reaction to reporters questioning what the defense is doing is that he appears to be genuinely confused/upset about it.  He honestly doesn't seem to understand or accept the reasons why the questions are being asked.  It's a little concerning.

Ya think?

"Coach! You're 2DT formations are allowing running lanes you could drive a Mack Truck through...yet you keep doing it. Could you explain why that is?"
