Rashad Bateman Out for the Year

We threw everything we had at Bateman being healthy this year and of course he plays barely 3 games and then goes out for the season. Unbelievable. Just stop drafting WR's tbh. Trade for them or sign them in FA because we can't draft for ****.

But knowing our luck, we'd trade for a guy who's played 5 years without any injuries and they'd go on IR before week 1.

Marcus Williams going to miss more games this year than his previous 5 seasons combined. Just the way the wind blows sometimes.

Can't make other teams trade their talented WRs and/or CBs to us, sucks... but that's how it is.

Big name FA WRs don't want to play with Lamar. Marquise Brown, one of his best friends didn't want to play with him. And any WR who has the contractual power to dictate trade destinations probably won't want to play with him either. Which means we have to keep drafting them. Luckily we've hit at a stronger rate at the position lately, Bateman, Duve, and Hollywood are all talented- yet Bateman who was durable in college now keeps getting injured, obviously Hollywood is gone, and Duve can't function as the sole threat.

Another under the radar issue is that the position(WR) attracts a bunch of lunatics and frequently high end options aren't on the table for the Ravens because of their top down standards set by Biscotti who steers the organization away from players with character concerns. A guy like George Pickens(who many fans wish we had taken over Ojabo) was likely never a consideration with his red flags, and guys like Toney and Anderson who were just traded were never an option because of their issues/character concerns.

So unless the talented options we draft start to stay healthy, we're going to constantly be up against the wall at the position.

Beating a dead horse at this point but the fact that Harbaugh chaining the entire franchise's fortunes to Greg Roman such that our offense was radioactive despite having one of the most exciting young QB's in the league is one of many colossal failures of the organization over the past couple of years. Don't have to look much farther from Philly to see what a dual-threat offense can look like if your entire organizational philosophy isn't built around winning the 1945 Super Bowl.

All of what you're saying is basically true but these were all intentional choices made by an organization that never even tried to evolve or change after they hit the lottery in 2019.

Anyways, to stay on topic... let's see what Likely can do I guess. This is in many ways Roman and the org's chance to prove they're right about their offensive scheme/approach and the abundance of TE's being superior. If we're being honest it's not gonna be Proche or Wallace or whoever who shows out with this opportunity. Likely at least has the talent if we have the route tree to make use of him even if Andrews is on the field too.

Lmao, so true.

ya this stinks - we stink at receiver. But this team is still good enough to win 10-12 games, imo. Although we were definitely worse at receiver than ILB, Roquan is still a huge get that makes the team better. Given Roquan went for a little bit more than Claypool did to the Bears I imagine the trade market was a real devil for receivers in a way that the Ravens were never really even buyers.

we should make playoffs and could bounce any team for a week or two, but it’s tough to say we have the firepower to make a serious SB run against some of these offences(unless Lamar somehow turns the clock back to 2019).

…..

Do you think Anquan Boldin or Terrell Owens have any cleats? I bet both could suit up and get reps on this squad 😆

Megatron also needs a ring to boost his legacy, get him on the line. He’s probably still running a 4.4, tell him he gets to go back to his Georgia Tech offense. Easy adjustment.

So Georgia Tech doesn't throw passes to WR's either?

Not WRs just their big fast tight end who plays exclusively along the outside. He doesn’t know he’s not a tight end though. He played his entire NFL career as a big fast WR that couldn’t be stopped.

Though secretly those in the know, were aware of his misdiagnosis the entire time.

So all that said Megatron would fit perfectly within our offense as our boundary tight end.

EDIT: Which we haven’t had since Miles Boykin left.
