They have one of the most talented young rosters in the NFL with guys that look like potential superstars on both sides of the ball. He also looks to have hit on his coaching hire with Saleh and they're currently 6-4 despite bad QB play and key injuries.

Reminds me of the talk of Ryan Pace a few years ago where people were making tons of excuses after he missed on Trubisky.

The simple fact is no matter how good your roster is..if you miss on QB then you're eventually going to get fired

Funny thing is that Joe Douglas worked under Ryan Pace albeit for a brief period with the Bears 😄

If you miss on QB and then don't act in a timely manner to replace him. Missing on Trubisky was also amplified because Watson/Mahomes were drafted a few picks later. Wilson was taken over Mac Jones, Justin Fields, and Trey Lance. The Bears also took an all in approach by trading away multiple firsts, etc.

I had no idea that Zach Wilson was so talked about.

Should the real question be if the Jets fire Joe Douglas? Missing on the #2 pick is major

most jets fans I follow / talk with believe that JD is the GM going forward and he would deserve another chance at getting a QB. The last 2 drafts outside of the #2 pick have provided a ton of good to elite young talent and it also feels like he got it right with the HC hire.

All that to say, I think he is the man unless Zach flames out & he doesn't do anything to rectify that in the next couple of years.

Yeah, but he has them winning. Does missing on that one pick cancel out all of the good that he has done which has them 6-4 right now?

It’s his 3rd full season, with a very difficult remaining schedule. If he misses the playoffs, it be a big collapse. He’ll definitely be on the hot seat next year for sure.

Let’s be realistic here, the Jets we’re picking 4th overall for a reason - they were a bad team last season, not just because Zach Wilson.

The fact that we can narrow in on a singular problem vs a laundry list of problems is a significant improvement over this time last year.

Ya and besides Lance who is an unknown the Jets would be better off with those other guys. I'm not really a big Mac Jones fan but he did have a good rookie year and has shown he can win games

As for Fields, you can say what you want but at the very least he's a dynamic athlete who would be able to put that Jets O in a position to score more points
