Think @PR wanted to add voting on waiver pickups for non playoff teams during playoffs as well at the owners meeting

That's dumb but ok. There used to be no waivers during the playoffs. We only added it for playoff teams like 3-4 years ago for injury purposes.

I mean I still want to reduce Roster sizes down from 70 to 65 and cut the draft to 6 rounds with 3 rounds of PFA to make decisions actually matter but no one wants to do that.

I don’t think that non playoff teams should have waivers either but it’s something he brought up in discord and every voice should be heard. But yeah I’d vote against the draft thing too if you proposed it.

If the NFL hadn't instituted the new IR rules where players could return later in the season, I'd be in favor of reducing roster sizes as well. But now we're in a constant state of limbo not knowing what our "real" roster sizes are because IR guys could come off at any time and count towards the limit again.

I think this is an excellent point

Only 4-5 teams out of 16 have active rosters over 65 right now. And the ones that do are the ones that make the most waiver claims tbh. It could easily be done.

Which is why I didn't make a waiver claim just because I could for like 6-7 weeks in the season. I like those hard decisions. Didn't really make many until I started getting guys injured for the year.

How many teams are below the active roster limit due to the uncertainty around IR/PUP/etc. players, though?

I think cap space impacted things more this year than that uncertainty. But I knew I had guys coming back so wouldn't just claim a guy at random.
