They just battle it out in camp. All this does is prevent the team from giving the job to Lance with no contest. I don't know if Lance wins that battle, but we also saw some of purdy's limitations in this game. That INT back across the field just died in the air. That's a pass that Lance hit pretty easily deeper down the field just last year. Carr plays with so much panic and conservativeness, especially in the redzone.
