HC is a really solid ST from everything I have seen about him. Much better this year than last. Not at that Ayanbadejo level but a core guy. He gives us NOOOOOOTHING on defense though so I’d like to see another step next year. Hall doesn’t give you either though and he was the higher pick. I only expected HC to be a ST player.

Maybe I have just missed him lately. Having a real hard time placing him with any impact plays, but even if he is solidifying a role then good. He has only 10 tackles this season so far, and 8 were in a 3 game stretch. I hope he continues to progress on ST at least, I LOVED having a few ST studs like Toub had under Lovie.

Of course Hester was the star, but they had Bowman, Ayanbadejo, Mannely, Gould, Izzy, Daniel Manning, Knox, etc. They had dynamic athletes all around, or specialists who were damn good at their roles. Even starters like Peanuts, Hillenmeyer, and others wanted to play on special teams. I hope we get back to that, it was the difference between a W and a L on numerous games.

Started looking at DEs who could stand up in a 3-4 and I love the look of Sam Hubbard at the top of the 2nd...excellent movement skills and would give us a real compliment to Floyd.

I like him a lot. He is a mid to late first to me, so I'd be very happy to land him.

So the 8th pick it is. Probably the most uneducated I've been on prospects in some time. You have to figure 3 Qbs and Barkley go ahead of us. That leaves us at least one of Chubb, Ferrill, Mcglinchey, James, Minkah, Ward, Williams. Give me some insight on this field and who the Bears would be best suited to take. The one guy I am a bit familiar with is Key as an LSU fan. Personally feel we should stay away even though he is quite talented. Redundant skillset with Floyd anyways.

I think there’s next to zero chance Chubb is there at 8.

Just a guess on my end based on needs of the teams.

1. CLE - QB Rosen  (Needs RB, CB)

2. NYG - QB Darnold (Needs OT, RB)

3. IND - OT Williams (Needs ILB, passrusher)

4. CLE - HB Barkley (Needs CB)

5. DEN- OT McGlinchey (I think they land Cousins, he gets an elite defense to work with) (Needs OG)

6. NYJ - QB Allen (Needs RB, OT)

7. TB - DE Chubb (Needs RB, CB)

8. CHI - Needs RB, OT, passrusher, CB)

We have Minkah, Ward, Nelson, James, Ridley, Kirk, Ferrill, Smith, etc.

Maybe someone loves Jackson or Mayfield and wants him. I think Miami, CIN, WAS, AZ, and BUF all will want to get new QBs. NO and NE will also want to get young QBs in to groom for their potential replacements, but I think their positions will be too far back to bother trading up for one.  Maybe someone desperately wants a player that we have available as well, the top CB, WR, and S all will have someone wanting them.

Chubb goes #2

But they have tons of money on Vernon and JPP. But maybe you're referring at Gettleman's will to build via the Dline ? To me the GIants will go QB, Barkley or Nelson in that order.

Rosen goes #1 and hes the only qb who will go top 5. Darnold goes back to school.  Chubb goes #2 after that, i have no idea.

I think Darnold should go back to school but you are risking quite a lot when you are almost guaranteed to be a top-3 pick. Not sure he takes that risk .

Hes not a guaranteed top 3 pick hes a mid to late first right now and maybe even 2nd.  He showed a lot of flaws this year and he has a lot of growth left.  Rosen is the only sure fire first rounder i see and teams will really b reaching to take another qb in the top 5.  Rosen goes #1, Allen goes somewhere in the top 10, Jackson in the 20-25 range and Mayfield at the end of the first to mid 2nd.

Gettleman has always drafted with the philosophy of you can never have too many good pass rushers.

And it is a philosophy i like. But the problem in NY is in offense so to me its still QB, Barkley or the best OL (Nelson to me).

Right now I believe they go QB. The took Manning and had him sit under Warner, they might take Darnold and have him sit and have one more year as the starter ( I know, different management then but still). I just don't think NYG is going to be picking near this high in 2019 without substantial injuries, so this is their chance to take hold of their own fate and not have to pick the "leftovers" at QB.

Of course if they don't like the QBs that much I could be way off, but we will see who gets hired and what their mantra has been.

I don't see that. Somebody is going to love the potential and take the chance on him early if he enters  QBs will almost always be overdrafted. Darnold will most likely be in CLE if Rosen insists on not wanting to be there.

I cant say for sure what cleveland will do bc of ownership, but if they come to the conclusion that rosen is the best in the draft and dont take him bc of posturing and what not, then they deserve to go 0-16 for another decade. Eli Manning said im not going to San Diego, they took him anyway, got Phillip Rivers and a haul of extra picks.  The browns could do the same.
