Here is the problem with Ward.

We literally need starters/contributors at OLB, OG and WR.

If the 1st Pick goes to a CB what the hell do we do at those 3 spots.

Honestly, we "need" a starter at OG and we need a pass-rush specialist to go along with a WR4.

1. Denzel Ward - CB

2. Billy Price - OC

4. Kemoko Turay - EDGE (I like Marquis Haynes a lot too)

4. Deon Cain - WR

1. Denzel Ward

2. Josh Sweat

Eric Kush at OG

Kevin White at WR

Im already expecting you to go off the deep end in response to this but that’s par for the course with you lately.

I'm not opposed to having Kush start if he is the best option, but I want him to at least battle for the spot. Morgan was drafted to be groomed as an OG IMO, and I would like him to be sandwiched between Whitehair and a vet tackle.

White I want fighting for reps, he has done nothing to earn a role yet. The injuries aren't his fault of course, but objectively we need to get the best guys on the field. Not just the highest drafted or anything else. Maybe Cohen rotates in for Gabriel, and White spells Robinson.

Heres whats important to remember about any Bears rumors right now.  They are almost always 100% wrong.  Halas Hall is Ft Knox in draft season and we wont really know what the Bears think of anybody until draft night when they go on the clock.  Im sure they would like to trade down, but that doesnt necessarily mean there is a trade partner.

Rather take the player you think is best than reach on a player who will bust. If Ward turns into elite we may have the best secondary in the NFL.

Denzel Ward is tough enough to handle WRs that are 2" taller and 25 lbs heavier than him, and he's quick/athletic enough to battle the Tyreek Hill's of the NFL. That is extremely valuable in today's NFL, IMO.

Stack your roster with talent and let the players determine who starts and who sits.

Nagy comes from the Andy Reid tree, and Reid once famously said: "Give me a QB, two offensive tackles, two pass rushers, two corner backs and I'll figure out the rest".

A Denzel Ward and Lorenzo Carter first two picks wouldn't shock me, either.

Not off the deep end.

I think the Bears can survive with Kush at OG.

White at WR is idiotic, but deep down you know that.

Here's my mock scenario.  Bears trade down to 11 with Miami.  Pick up an extra 3rd round pick in the process. Trade up into the mid/late 3rd with their two 4th's.

Round 1: LB - Roquan Smith - Georgia

Round 2: CB - Isaiah Oliver - Colorado

Round 3 (from MIA): WR - DJ Chark - LSU

Round 3 (trade up): OLB - Kemoko Turay - Rutgers

Round 5: OL - Alex Cappa - Humboldt State

Round 6: DT - Reggie McKenzie Jr.- Tennessee

Round 7: RB - Chase Edmonds - Fordham

I like the moves, but I do not like the Kush, Morgan, Cappa battle to start in the "Year of Mitch".

Sweat was consistently hurt in college, and when he wasn't, he was underwhelming. I'll pass on him that high. He isn't worth the 39th pick.

More rumors! This from Albert Breer:

Two names that have been connected to the Broncos of late—Notre Dame G Quenton Nelson and Ohio State CB Denzel Ward—could be available further down the line. For what it’s worth, the same two names have been connected to the Bears at No. 8.

Roquan Smith. I seldom see his name mentioned around here, but he is showing up more on media types' mock drafts at 8 for the Bears.

The guy has produced his last two years in the SEC and he finished his college career in the SEC Championship game and then the national semi and finals against Auburn, Oklahoma, and Alabama, ergo highest level of talent and stakes, with 23 solo tackles, 14 assists, 2  sacks.

Scouted to have great vision and football smarts, not a project. Almost sure upgrade at a more reasonable slot 11 than 8 and we add a 3.
