or Justin Houston in a rotational pass rush role. He can still ball!

It's amazing that he's still hanging around, because by the time he left the Chiefs, he was a shadow of a player he once was.

At this point in the year, I wonder what Leonard Floyd or Yannick Ngakoue would cost on one year deals?

While I've never thought real highly of Floyd, he'd be worth a shot.  And for all of his journeyman status, Ngakoue is still only 28 yrs old.  Maybe he could make it through more than 6 games.  😂

Didn't he still lead the teams in sacks?  I think he'd be ideal as a 3rd down pass rush specialist, but is too much of a liability in the run game to be an every down player.

He's a pass rushing specialist beast and awful at everything else. He'll get another 1 year deal somewhere.

For those that don't have the subscription...he basically says that he didn't like his contract only having the first year guaranteed and the weekly roster bonus last year which led him to having to play despite not being healthy...giving more indication on why he fired his agent.

Getting draft capital for a player that doesn't want to be here is a win imo.

Smith was invisible in the 2nd half of the season due to injury and there's a good chance his best ball is behind him.

I'd like Kwesi to pick up a veteran edge player with the cap savings from cutting Cook.

Ngakoue and Jadaveon Clowney are available and would be great for the Vikings as depth/rotational pieces

How does one call Z invisible for the 2nd half and then advocate for signing Clowney? Clowney has had 16 sacks over his last 50 games and can’t stay healthy.

Yet the Vikings signed Davenport who couldn't even register a full sack last season and has had his fair share of injuries over the years. I think the Vikings should have just focused on giving a proper contract to Hunter instead of rewarding Davenport for 1 season. Otherwise they should have committed to Z for a few years. Why Davenport over either of those 2? Yes it's a 1 year deal, but he had all the motivation to prove himself last season and didn't.

If Hunter isn't going to play for beans this team is done. Beyond old man Smith, every defensive roster spot is a bunch of wishing and hoping the likes of which I've never seen. I keep hearing how the defense couldn't get worse than last season. Oh yes it could. It would be a defense completely devoid of star talent with a lack of any elite prospects, but rather young potential that hasn't proven production and/or ability to stay on the field.
