The socks do have more of a baseball feel. A little more silvery on the pants, and use the current wing logo on the helmet, and they would be perfect aside from the stitching designs Nike went with (Looks like Nike was inspired by the Cadillac CTS-V). And maybe just use solid kelly green socks instead of stripes.

As is, I still like them more than our 2010 kelly green throwbacks. Not prefect, but still sweet.

The socks are probably a shout out to tube socks of the 70s.  Lots of two stripe or three stripes with a contrasting type color in the middle stripe designs back then.  Was the fad.  I think they should go solid green like the mock up above by @NYRaider

Solid green socks with the silver pants. Hell yeah.

They're only playing two games in these???

Lurie wants squatters rights on that 3rd black helmet, would’ve loved to see the 3rd game.

That Christmas one against the Giants in their white throwbacks, with their white throwbacks…would’ve been great.

At the very least I hope the Dolphins wear theirs. Halloween time, both in their throwbacks…go full retro broadcast with the graphics and suits.

Also, shoutout to the Eagles for constantly trying to push the league's aesthetics forward.

Still remember being mad about them having to pull the helmet proposal.

I believe it was withdrawn so that it wouldn't be a tallied vote by the owners.

The science used to get rid of alt helmets was disproved fairly quickly, but the owners were doing their damnedest to act like they cared about concussions.
So it stuck.

Repelling it, despite having science on their side, would've been potentially used against them at some point. And overall would've invited more eyes on the process.
Doing it as a behind closed doors unilateral decision protects them a bit from individual ridicule or litigation.

But yeah the point still stands, Lurie has been a large part of pushing for the updates. I think he'd been pushing for it for a couple years by the point he had to drop it.
He's doing it still with wanting the teams to be able to use 3 helmets instead of 2.
