I didn’t know he was put on IR. But yeah, I knew they’d likely lose regardless, just kinda tired of seeing playmakers out against Dallas is all I’m saying.

What I've gathered from reading is he's pretty good until the punts happen at critical moments, and then he sort of falls apart when you need him most. Basically sounds like Siposs with a slightly stronger leg.

So this guys supposed to be slightly better than Siposs but at least we know what Siposs is. I’m not advocating for Siposs but seems like this is something that could have been addressed in the off-season if this was Howie’s plan. Either way, we should see barely a difference in the punting game. Which has been clearly subpar comparatively to the league but was it worth disrupting the STs during the season? I don’t know. Siposs could be replaced by half the league and we wouldn’t recognize a difference. But now, we know there’s going to be a different (worse?) holder and a possible disaster punt game coming.

Well it is week 3 so if we are going to do something might as well do it now. He has a 2-3 week audition. If he sucks? Just bring Siposs back and deal with the devil you know. Not a big deal imo.

im more of the mind that there are very few punters in the league that can make up for michael clay's incompetence so it doesn't really matter either way.

I’m his defense, you can’t make chicken salad out of chicken ****. Besides Elliot and Lovato, we really don’t have much. The specialist are average at most and the STers are nothing special. That’s why I just don’t get the move. Everyones assuming it can’t get worse. I can imagine a world where it does. And the rebuttal to that is, “well, we just go back to Siposs then.” But that could be after it costs us a game. I just don’t see the dramatic reasoning to do it mid season. Howie should have been on this months ago.

Everything you said is logical. However, I'd rather deny logic and continue thinking michael clay is the sole problem so I have a constant reason to not believe in the eagles special teams. It makes it hurt less when they play like ***.
