I think you’re on to something…

2004:

- Week 1) Eagles 31 - Giants 17

- Week 2) Eagles 27 - Vikings 16

Ok, yea so what? It’s a clear coincidence. Eagles made a SB in 1980 too. Ok, ya smartarse…

1980:

- Week 1) Eagles 27 - Broncos 6

- Week 2) Eagles 42 - Vikings 7

This is a must win.

SB here we come!

Defense needs to get healthy... we also need some LBs. Idk if its time to trade or make some calls, but its getting pretty close. Our LBs are just horrible and slow.

Defense is the walking wounded and it’s only week 2… Hopefully, Blankenship and Bradberry are back vs the Bucs with 11 days off. Maddox I doubt we see again bc well, it’s Maddox.

Goodrich was LOST multiple times. Simplifying things with him on the field may be for the best b/c there were numerous breakdowns with him involved. Him being the slot corner has me worried

Tons of stuff to work on but the eagles could just as easily be 1-1 or 0-2. I’ll take 2-0 any day. 11 days till the next game so just get healthy. Also, I wanna see the snap count breakdown but did it seem like Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter didn’t play much in the 2nd half? I wonder why

Maybe he did but idk the eye test with him sometimes leaves me underwhelmed. Maybe my expectations are just too high for him as like a top 3 LT.

If you missed the game and just saw the Minnesota box score:

Kirk Cousins - 31/44, 364, 4 TD's, 0 INT's
Justin Jefferson - 11 for 159
Jordan Addison - 3 for 72 and a TD
TJ Hockenson - 7 for 66 and 2 TD's

You would ask, how did they lose?

Here's how:

Vikings 4 fumbles lost
Vikings 9 carries for 28 yards
Eagles 48 carries for 259 yards and 3 TD's

The upside:

-Coordinators made adjustments early and pivoted to the run which Minnesota allowed freely
In the Reid era we prayed for that at halftime
(Conversely, Minnesota never adjusted)
-The offensive line obliterated Minnesota in the trenches in the run game
They are at mid-season form in terms of the run
-Defense and special teams forced turnovers and recovered them
Even Covey's fumble was recovered by the Eagles (Ringo)
-Minnesota could not run the ball
-Jake Elliot, Jake F'n Elliot

The downside:

-The pass blocking is sub-par
This unit needs to fine tune in the pass game
-Pass coverage was abysmal at times
I get it, guys were out
But, guys are always going to be out ... it's football
You have to compensate for that
Note:  (It didn't help that I went up against Cousins last night in fantasy, either)
-Teams just aren't going to fumble 4 times every week

Back to the upside:

-There are 11 days to refine the pass blocking game
-There are 11 days to get healthy
Blankenship and Bradberry, mostly
(While Mayfield doesn't scare me, Godwin and Evans are formidable)
-The TB running game doesn't appear to be able to dominate a game
33/73/0 week 1 against the same Minnesota team

Back to the downside:

There are 11 days until the next game
I may be in AA by then
