I was wondering if Deion could be one and done at Colorado but the buyout is $15m. It's $10m after year 2. Someone might absolutely POUNCE then (like if Florida State flops or something).

A Colorado/Colorado State game that ended at 2:30am drew 9.3 million viewers.  Someone is obsoletely going to try to pounce.  Recruits are going to notice too.

Why would he? W/ all the powerhouse schools leaving the PAC 12 and playoff expansion happening, that's an easier route to getting in on a yearly basis. Yeah, winters suck but he's getting recruits to come in and unless he has some desire to go to another school, I don't see why he would.

Duke's point is with my thinking. Schools are noticing. Deion is going to want to take that next step. I don't think you'll have the schools ready for 2024... but 2025? It might be must see TV on who recruits him.

I bet he’s got bigger plans that that- a HC gig in the NFL.

I mean, I wouldn't doubt it. I don't see his success translating quite the same though. I am already doing a 180 on him with college - I think he can be very successful. I'm not pushing it to the next level though.

Yep, me too. Swing and a miss.

Feel free to edit out/delete this, but you can't talk about Deion's success as a coach without talking about how he connects with AA kids. In an era of 70 year old Saban, creepy preacher Dabo, and a Kirby Smart who looks more like Ted Cruz every year, Deion is the total opposite. He started at Jackson State, he's talking about how many players from HBCU the NFL is taking, and his general message of not taking any BS is going to resonate. That's why he's playing that press conference character.

And even if you think he's doing it for himself or whatever, it's working- the number 1 QB in 2025 is visiting Colorado, and they won 1 game last year. A video game wouldn't let you do that.
