I think JD wasn't expecting to lose Huff and made the best move he could.

Either way, I'm happy we made this move. Still an impact player. I don't care about his age and the mid round pick we tossed.

I'm just glad JD is doing everything he can to repair his damages and building a contending team. If we finish this off season strong, winning the AFCE doesn't sound crazy.

I think Huff wanted to leave. I think he was mad that the Jets saw him as a pass rush specialist and didn't want to be rotated as much.

But buyers beware with Huff, he benefited from more 1v1 matchups than other top pass rushers. JJ and Q took on most of the attention.

Bingo!!! I have said this before too. I think most jet fans are over rating Huff. The guy had one good year last year lets not act like he has been good for a few years. Then you add the fact of the monster contract he got from Phil. I also just realized that the Jets are pretty much moving the extra draft pick from Huff for him. This is pretty much a wash so I'm even liking it a little more.

It’s not overrating Huff. I was very critical of him until last year. It’s about developing and keeping/rewarding our own players. They made a huge deal about not signing guys to second contracts. They also made a huge deal about coming at opponents in waves.

It’s the staff that is contradictory with their words and actions.

My best guess is that JFM either gets restructured or cut and Reddick signs an extension lowering his cap hit this year. Think Johnson and Reddick will be the starter and McDonald still stepping into Huffs role with JFM being more of a moveable piece off the bench at times. Either that or they move Reddick or McDonald to a Bruce Irvin type role which would make sense considering we run an off shoot of Seattle old 43Under scheme

There are some low name players on this roster who could surprise us this season. Especially with the talent around them.

With the new kickoff rules, I can see someone like X.Gibson becoming a huge threat.

Fotu/Kinlaw are still young enough to improve, big, and could benefit from being around the rest of our Dline.

Zaire Barnes could be a interesting person to keep an eye on.

Benard-Converse is one of my sleepers. I think he will compete for a starting spot at safety.

Hopefully, Zack Kuntz has been working with the right people. 6'8, 250lbs , 4.55 forty, and 40" vert would be dangerous because defenses can't send help because of the other targets.

I also, Warren, Deculus and Eze might make camp interesting. I know we're going to add some names, but I'm expecting a fun competition.

Stefon Diggs to Houston wow

I'm not to surprised. I think the Bills missed the window. They have really tanked the last few years. They should have been in at least 1 Super Bowl the last few years. If the Bills fail to make the AFCC game I think the HC gets fired and you will see a lot more moves. This is great news for the Jets. They just need to stay health and they have a massive chance to win the AFC east.

Now that things are fairly slow for the next two weeks. Let me ask you young guys a question. We all known all our 6 & 7 round draft picks over the years have sucked. HOWEVER, WE DRAFT A HOF PLAYER IN THE SIX ROUND WHO AM I ?

I am just going to wing it without looking anything up on the ol' interweb.

Don Maynard or Winston Hill

I wish I would have seen this earlier. I knew that one :). I loved the sack exchange. I think this years DL could be better than those guys.

I'm not so sure we end up picking at 10 (with the way the board looks like it will unfold at the moment).

If we stand pat at 10, it's up to the Bears to pass on Odunze for a DE.  I don't see us taking an OT unless Alt falls.  Bowers is probably too rich at 10.

I think our two options, trading up a few spots to grab Nabers/Odunze.  Trading back a few spots then still landing Fashanu/Fuaga, Bowers or even Thomas Jr.  Leaning the most towards trading up.  What do we really need in the draft for this season?

-We need another WR, even if Williams is good for Week 1.

-We need a developmental QB to take advantage of learning from Rodgers.

-We need developmental OL.

Douglas could trade away all of our picks and we end up with Nabers, Rosengarten, Pratt.

Not awful because Nabers would have an immediate impact and could be a star then we have two developmental prospects for our future.  It would be awesome to fit a Safety, LB, DT, interior OL but unfortunately we don't have the capital and none of them would likely make an impact this season so that's out the window for JD and Saleh who should be desperate.

Now for fun if we trade back so someone can get their QB and squeeze them for a 2nd:

1- Bowers

2- Paul or whichever OT is around

3- Ja'Lynn Polk or insert favorite WR

4- Pratt/QB

4- Safety

Bowers gives us immediate impact, Paul for development, Polk for development but can play if Williams isn't ready.

We need a starting OT. Do you think Smith or Moses is going to play every game?  And, no, Warren is not yet an NFL OT. Consider him our developmental OT.
