That’s what I’m asking. Do you believe guys like Jaire, Kenny, Gary and the rest of the first rounders aren’t very good ?

Jaire - injured too much, plays good when he does
Kenny - plays good/great
Gary - not doing enough for me and leaves us exposed in the run game
Quay - average doesn't have the instincts
Wyatt - good can be great
LVN - too early
Stokes - injured too much
Savage - pants

Non- 1st rounder
Valentine - has great potential
McDuffie - like as much Quay
Brooks - like the potential
Wooden - like the potential
Slayton - I think he is good
Kinglsey - is a decent role player

I'm more excited about what our non-1st rounders can do and become

Wow.  I had kinda been starting to think this might NOT happen, and that MLF might bring him back.  Wow wow wow.

Hope his next hire is a good one.

I think the prevent orientation is somewhat in MLF's philosophy.  I wonder whether the next hire will be any better, or smarter, or more creative, or more adaptive?

Ok that’s fine with me. I  think we have a ton of talent that wasn’t utilized the best, but you are right in the sense that the investment doesn’t matter if the guys invested in aren’t worth the investment .

Not going to dance on Joe's grave, seems like a good, well respected man who's now lost his job, but this was necessary and I'm looking forward to the improvement it could cause.

Every word of this 👍

And I'm just stating you can have expectations but they will be misplaced.

Spending draft capital or cap dollars on a player(s) does not equate to success.

No, it does not automatically equal success. It does, however, when spent across many players, lead to an expectation of results, even more so if the GM is considered a competent one. If you can't manage a talented team or part of one, you get fired, as Joe Barry has been. just because he spoke nicely to you when he was in England, doesn't mean he is a good coordinator.

Here is the 2022 top FA signings by contract value. Looking back two years now how many of them were worth it? All teams speculate to accumulate. The more you invest does not mean the more you will get. It should but in the NFL it doesn't.

So we might have expectations that we have eight 1st rounders on our defence and thus our defence should be talented but that to me is wishing in the wind.
