I thought Leggette would be there, though. You're right. Perhaps not so much Buffalo since they allowed 3 teams in front of them to take WRs, but CAR curiously swapping with BUF right in front of NE definitely tells me CAR was worried about the Patriots coming back in (per Jerod Mayo) to grab Legette. I imagine a scenario where NE was on the phone with BUF. Then BUF tells CAR, "Hey, we've got NE on the line. If you don't swap with us, we're swapping with them." BUF probably takes a marginally less offer to not have to trade with a division rival. 7 hours ago, Soko said: Of the WRs, I think stylistically, I’d have to lean either McConkey or Coleman. Both might show glimpses of former Patriots (Edelman and Harry), but I think both are souped up versions of those guys. McConkey’s obviously a superior athlete to Jules, and Coleman isn’t a lumbering presence IMO. He’s not a burner either, that’s to be sure. But he’s an outside presence that you could throw it up to, which I think the team is lacking. He might be the consistent version of DeVante Parker. I’d love Mitchell too, but only if that off the field stuff is bogus. I really like McConkey too, but can he project to line up outside full-time? Same with Roman Wilson/Malachi Corley. These dudes will be certified ballers, but I feel they are similar (although definitely more talented) to all the bodies we already have in Bourne, Pop, Osborn and Juju in terms of where it's best to line them up. Given Amari Cooper (with AVP) last season as the most recent evidence, then their lust for Ridley in FA, I imagine the Patriots want an X who specializes in route running and separating in man. Coleman doesn't profile as such so I admittedly haven't looked much into him. I have noticed he's particularly high on the boards of a few draft pundits (Kiper and Brooks I think), so that's worth something. I'm definitely big on Mitchell but the ramblings about his attitude and effort have certainly surfaced. I think I'll scale back on the probability he's Buffalo's pick. NE might have a legit shot at him at 34. 8 hours ago, Soko said: Kingsley obviously you hope he comes in and eventually becomes your LT Is it far fetched to think Kingsley will still be there at 68? He's very impressive athletically, but the dude is so raw with his hands and technique, I'm thinking the rather deep class OT class and ready-made prospects can push him down that far. Guy needs A LOT of refinement. I think he's a surprise faller.
PatriotsWin!
So apparently the trade talks with the 49ers were regarding Deebo, not Aiyuk. Disappointing. Not that I mind Deebo but I would not trade the 34th pick for him, I’d be more comfortable with a 4th… maybe a 3rd. Given his play style and injuries he’s destined for a shorter NFL career than Aiyuk.
PatriotsWin!
Fwiw, if we do draft a WR at 34th I hope it’s McConkey and not Mitchell. Not sure how true the rumors from the past week are (saying Mitchell isn’t responsible with managing his diabetes) but concerning either way. Edited April 26 by PatriotsWin! mission27
I'm ok with the Maye pick, have my concerns with him but you are betting on talent and he has a lot of talent. We'll see how it goes. Need to get some receivers now.
vike daddy
The Patriots were immediately impressed with Maye's football intelligence, and how driven he is by the sport. Then, there were the leadership qualities he very clearly brought to the table, and were displayed when New England drilled him on his 2023 struggles. With conditions around him changing after his breakout ’22 season, Maye’s play suffered last year. Yet, he refused to blame anyone else, player or coach, or anything else for any of it. That kind of accountability went a long way for the Patriots staff. The Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants did make offers to the New England Patriots for the No. 3 pick to take Drake Maye. Earlier this week, Minnesota offered the Nos. 11 and 23 picks, and its 2025 first-rounder, with pick swaps favoring the Vikings as part of the proposal; and that offer ticked up with New England on the clock. The Giants, meanwhile, did wind up putting their 2025 first-round pick in their offer to move from No. 6 to No. 3. Ultimately, nothing came close to moving the Patriots off their choice. In fact, that Kevin O’Connell and Brian Daboll were the head coaches interested, only emboldened New England to stay put. He is a professional WR !!!!!! Don't mind him at all but he doesn't exactly represent the H/W/S outside guy. Still, he's got among the surest hands in the draft and surprisingly seems to be an intermediate specialist the more you see him. No complaints
Nex_Gen
Is there any team we could actually get to trade for JuJu during the draft? Even if it's for peanuts. Only team I can think of that's a possibility is Arizona.

I waited for years for a drafted WR that can PLAY the position. That's all I care about. We got another Dion Branch a true WR from the draft. who by the way was ranked 21 in his WR draft class.
