Can someone explain to me like I'm 5 how a guy who has 4 straight seasons of double digit sacks can only get a 2026 conditional pick in return?

His whole vibe is off.

Age and money.

I would have kept him this year and let him walk in FA next year personally, but when Burns went for a 2nd and a future 5th it was obvious we weren't getting the value we wanted. Really sad to see him walk, but they clearly were not ready to pay him.

He wanted out, Jets are paying him most of the money he's making.

Just weird logic here by the Jets. Lose Huff for nothing, then give up a 3rd(or 2nd if he plays well) for his replacement?

Id have understood drafting someone with a third because then the player would be cheap, but here he is expensive too.

Douglas doesn't want to hamper our future cap with contracts but still wants to make most of the window. Sure we let go of a future 2nd, but there's enough time to get it back if we feel we are in need.

Says a lot in terms of how they feel about Huff
