Edit - I actually like Bowers more than Thomas, but I am not confident that Waldron will utilize two tight ends as effectively. As an OC Fant was his best TE in SEA the last 2 years and Everett the year before that. Kmet alone has had about as many targets as all their TEs combined last year. If I really felt like Bowers could be used properly here I would take him over Thomas, he is just a mismatch nightmare. Is that due to scheme or talent? I would guess talent at TE, but until I see both TEs be heavily used in a passing attack I'll just remain a skeptic.

But I KNOW Waldron can get a rookie WR on the field and have him produce, so I am likely sticking with Thomas and have him work to be Allen's heir.

I'm also switching from Verse to Turner. I like Verse more on film but he is almost 3 years older than Turner, so I think with more time and development in the weight room he can keep filling out and develop the man strength to handle heavy EDGE duties. I'm giving Eberflus the nod to develop him and get a stud across from Sweat.

Odunze or Nabers?

(no wrong answers here)

Verse or Turner or Latu?

(Turner is 3rd here for me - if Latu didn’t have the neck issue he and Verse are 1 and 1a at edge for me)

Murphy or Newton?

(both would be great gets)

Brian Thomas Jr. or Brock Bowers?

(this was the toughest one for me - I’m into Bowers if were using him like KC uses Kelce where he’s a TE in name only, but he’s behind all top 3 WRs for me. Not a knock on BB - I think MHJ/Nabers/Odunze are gonna be stars. Thomas is the more natural plug-and-play option and I LOVE his upside. More volatile high/low to him than the top 3 and BB though)

McConkey or Legette?

(Legette is my trade down WR of choice - Anquan Boldin potential with more speed)

A. Mitchell or B. Thomas Jr.?

(BT top 15 for me  AD 25ish)

X. Worthy or McConkey

(Don’t love Ladd, but I’m not on the Worthy train at all)

Latham or Fashanu?

(I think Latham is a guard. Fashanu is a franchise LT)

Barton or Powers-Johnson

(No wrong answers - JPJ is just nasty though)

Nabers if his character checks out

Turner for his age

Murphy

Bowers

Flip a coin, I like both McConkey and Legette

Mitchell

Worthy

Odunze or Nabers? - really close but Nabers can create more on his own than any WR in this draft

Verse or Turner or Latu? - Verse is a true scheem fit as an every down DE.

Murphy or Newton? - more explosive and tougher against the run.

Brian Thomas Jr. or Brock Bowers? - Bowers is more of a sure thing IMO.

McConkey or Legette? - McConkey is well rounded.

A. Mitchell or B. Thomas Jr.? Mitchell has some serious off the field concerns - Thomas brings the same sort of deep threat

X. Worthy or McConkey? - Worthy is really underrated and is more than just a track guy.

Latham or Fashanu? - Olu can play LT...Latham can't.

Barton or Powers-Johnson? - JPJ has more physical upside and could be better 2 years down the road.

1. Nabers on talent and it's not close....... If he  doesn't pass character checks, Odunze by far.

2. Turner.... I wouldn't hate Verse, but I have him graded similar to Bralen Trice, and he's going a full round later.  Latu is off my board for medicals

3. Newton... I flat out do not want Murphy... the guy can't finish plays.

4. Bowers, and it's not close. Wouldn't be upset with BT jr though

5. McConkey by far. He's got a late first grade for me. Legette is a late 2nd, early 3rd rounder on my board

6. I'd probably go BT JR.  ...... but in the draft range for those guys I'd rather get JPJ at Center

7. McConkey and again, it's not close.... Worthy is a speedster who statistically sucks deep..... And if I'm drafting a guy for underneath plays, I want the one who's an incredible route runner in McConkey.  I've got McConkey is a late first rounder... Worthy as a mid-late 2nd rounder

Missed these:

1. Latham if I had to pick via more physicality.... but I'm not sure he can play LT... Fashanu im not sure provides anything we don't already have in Braxton

2. JPJ AND Zach Frazier over Barton as a Center...

You have a three round board?  Kudos.  That’s a lot of work.

I used to put together a Top 200/250 depending on the depth of prospects and how much time I had that year

Alot less time now, and as Ive said I dont like this draft much so I struggled to get to 150 this year

Odunze or Nabers?

Nabers is so crisp and natural and fast. Great release, body control, rr, hands. Some were averse to him before because he plays more similar to DJ Moore, but why tf would you not want two DJ Moore’s. Odunze is as good of a consolation prize as you can get if you went that way too though.

Verse or Turner or Latu?

It was Turner for the longest time for me, but Verse isn’t a bad option. He has a similar pass rush package as Sweat. Latu I’m guessing is intriguing cause his selection would suggest a small trade down as well to get him. He’s a fantastic pass rusher, it’s his medicals that people are put off for. Turner reminds me of Anderson a bit. I truly wouldn’t be upset with any of the three.

Still Newton. I don’t understand why people aren’t higher on Newton.

Brian Thomas Jr. or Brock Bowers?

Eaaaasily Bowers. I’m really low on Thomas. Good size, good release. But bad hands. Basket catcher. Bowers is reliable at TE and the slot, best prospect to come out that I’ve watched (I didn’t watch Pitts)

McConkey or Legette?

McConkey. Legette reminds me a lot of Alshon, same size, attacks the ball similarly and is faster. But McConkey has my #1 trait in evaluating WRs in the draft: advanced route running ability. If you can get open, you can be a qb’s best friend. It’s what made me right about Allen, Lockett, Kupp, Flowers, etc. I think McConkey is a good route runner who’s able to find the soft zones in coverage. Also great shiftiness and quick burst, able to accelerate going into his cuts. He’s my #4 wr

17 hours ago, dll2000 said:

A. Mitchell or B. Thomas Jr.?

Mitchell. Mitchell is inconsistent and doesn’t play with his full speed, but has similar size to Thomas and can play by the book better as a wr imo. I could be wrong, I think they’ll stack up similarly but I have Thomas with one of the lower floors at the top of the class.

Still McConkey. There are only 3 dudes I’d take before him.

Odunze or Nabers?

To me its Naberrs and its a decent seperation between the two. I think Odunze has been getting overhyped by alot of people because they know that their teams have no real shot at the Top 2. That Odunze type of WR has failed so many times in the NFL, its hard to not worry about him.

Verse or Turner or Latu?

Verse has been my guy the entire time, I see him as a complete DE, which seems like its becoming harder and harder to find. So many are lighter specialists or 5-tech tweeners. A guy who can hold the edge every play and should get you in the 7-11 sack rage is becoming a unicorn in todays NFL. Latu is a specialist who I worry about holding up, and Turner is borderline dirty to me which the NFL wont put up with.

Murphy or Newton?

Ive got them ranked right next to each other, and it kind of comes down to preference, but I have Murphy slightly ahead. It depends if you want the athlete/splash player or the more reliable disruptor in the middle.

Brian Thomas Jr. or Brock Bowers?

Is this really something people are debating? If Bowers is healthy, and you trust your team to use him correctly, he should be a Top 5 pick. And even if you question those two, he should still be a Top 15 pick

McConkey or Legette?

Theres alot of flash in the second group of WRs that people fall in love with. Ill take the reliable guy who will likely out preform those guys, but wont have the 3 highlight plays throughout the year. Lagette being smaller than everyone said he was through college really made me take pause with him.

A. Mitchell or B. Thomas Jr.?

I think AD might be the 3rd best WR in this draft. Catch radius is insane, real functional play speed. And good enough route running with plenty of area to improve there, which is where the potential is.

X. Worthy or McConkey

I have Ladd as the 5th WR. and if I was a Playoff team that needs some reliable WR help, Id take him in the 1st (Chiefs). Worthy makes me worry he is a one trick pony.

Latham or Fashanu?

I feel like people got bored of Olu, which is what happens, but he is a monster, and I would still be very happy if he is the pick at 9. Latham should be a solid RT, but he probably would be a great guard.

Barton or Powers-Johnson

Barton is being hyped due to his versatility, and he should be very good at any of those spots. But when you stack them up who is best at their best, its JPJ hands down.

same reason why we don't have a pick after 122 this year. shallow class

Nice to see someone share my thoughts about Verse. 🍻

How many true 3-down 4-3 DEs are there in the league right now? A dozen or so? Maybe? Guys like Carl Granderson are getting 4/52 with $35M guaranteed coming off 14.5 sacks in 4 years.
