I couldn't name you a single player we drafted from those trades that is any good.  We basically traded them for nothing.

I get that, but thats the variance at play whenever you get picks. I think that's a different conversation. That's a risk any time you trade a player for draft picks. At the time (before the picks were made), people thought the Panthers absolutely fleeced the niners. 

The Burns thing is just a rough scenario where I'm not sure he was ever going to sign an extension with the Panthers so I think you just have to make do with what you can.

I'm very weary of preseason. Example, in 2023 the Raiders demolished the 49ers in their preseason game. Also, the 2023 Steelers offense looked AMAZING in the preseason. Contrast that with the regular season and you see how little value that had.

Arizona just needs to throw every possible asset at defense the next offseason. 

Free agency, trade, draft. Defense heavy. 

The offense can use a little bit of help here and there, but I think it'll mostly be fine.
