Wonder if this is more directed at Ingram or Cleveland. Or maybe just a succession plan for when they let Ezra walk.

Ingram is only entering year 2, and even if they were disappointed in him, I highly doubt that they’d look to replace him with a guy who has only ever played on the left side. If they sign Risner, I’d expect Cleveland to get traded.

Probably get as good of a comp pick next year.
SemperFeist
Cleveland isn't that cheap. Certainly not for a backup lineman.
vike daddy
Risner is close with Vikings offensive line coach Chris Kuper, who coached him in Denver and attended Risner’s wedding. As a pass blocker, Risner was effective last season with a 73.6 grade. https://vikingswire.usatoday.com/2023/07/31/minnesota-vikings-hosting-guard-dalton-risner-visit/?utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=facebook&fbclid=IwAR0Pz6ncrkUA46Y2PPZRcvQ25lgix

VikeManDan
His versatility would be welcomed as he played some OC in college. I hope they're able to come to an agreement.

Haley is the best pro player from JMU by a wide margin. Former Washington WR, Gary Clark was also a product of JMU. As it currently stands, JMU is probably the best and most consistent college football program in the Old Dominion, as Virginia Tech has dropped into constant mediocrity since Frank Beamer retired. UVa will always be a basketball school, with an occasionally decent football team.

Especially as Kirk Cousins continues to get older (he turns 35 years old in August), it will be very important for the Vikings to keep his jersey as clean as they possibly can. The QB has gotten the “ironman” moniker for never missing a game due to injury, but he was hit a career-high 84 times last season (per Pro Football Reference). That number has to go down this year to ensure #8’s health. Risner, 28, has spent his entire career with the Denver Broncos to this point after being selected in the second round of the 2019 Draft. Throughout his career, the four-year veteran has been superb in pass protection at the guard position with PFF grading him at 73.6 in 2021 and 72.6 in 2022 for Denver. Last season, he allowed just 29 pressures in 598 pass-blocking snaps. https://purpleptsd.com/2023/vikings/top_news/another-splash/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook
vike daddy
Broncos G Dalton Risner (elbow) left Week 17's game against Kansas City and did not return. Risner was placed on IR with an elbow injury at the end of last season and might wind up there again in 2023. NBCSports.com ahaa, so that's why he's still unsigned....
