Bears could be interested in trading too much for Khalil Mack

Food for thought for those claiming getting Mack is going destroy our ability to keep the gang together. They didn't even mention resigning Kendricks...

Without looking deeper into the situation, it's hard to compare the two, such as did they have more money and cap space to start off with? Other teams such as the Raiders, Jets and Jaguars have also spent ****loads of money because they they had shockingly huge amounts of unused cap sapce to start with... where Packers had to cut Nelson to stay under cap limit.

Also the Vikings could be spending their future cap space money going all in, just like GM Mike Sherman did... which leads to cap hell but some teams are fine with cap hell as long as they get a Super Bowl out of it like the Saints... which is partly why they traded Jimmy Graham away in the first place.

Also wasn't there something about them they having trouble resigning Barr? And Richardson is a one year deal like Richardson... both are well less than the $100 million, $22 million per year. And Packers grabbed someone more expensive from the Seahawks, so other than Cousins, seems like this for thought is rotten example of the point your pushing

how much do we think clay would want to re-sign for?

One billion dollars... seriously who doesn't WANT one billion dollars?

On a more serious note, they reportedly tried to extend Cobb and take less $$$ per year. I've been wondering if that's what they also tried with Bulaga and Mathews.

It was reported they asked Bulaga to take a pay cut, but I wonder if they offered a long year deal in that process as well.

It was reported they want to extend Matthews, but maybe they want to extend him at a lower rate as well.

Just speculation in my head.

Jets and a dozen teams have reached out to the raiders. Everyone and their mom knows Gutey made a call to Reggie.

so far Raiders not interested.

also of note,

“The Raiders haven’t given any interested teams permission to discuss a new contract with Mack’s representatives in a potential trade scenario, according to sources.”

Raiders have every reason to spread the word that Mack isn't being moved. Sends a message to Mack that he has no choice but to break and report. If Mack's holdout carries into the regular season, the Raiders will change their mind. Only question at that point is whether a ****ty team like the Jets who are probably going to have a top 5 draft pick next year will have the ammo to outbid us.

If this were still TT in charge I don't think we'd pursue him. Not sure with Gute, but not sure we are going to go after him hard. He's at that age and he's not an elite pass rusher.

It would seem a must we go after an EDGE rusher in the draft next year.

It was a must this year as well.
