AnAngryAmerican
If you want to see what good coaching can do, take a look at the Steelers today - led by Tomlin who IMO is a HOF’r - see the buy-in, see the game management, see Mitch Trubisky making good, smart football decisions. And doing all this on the road against the defending AFC Champs in adverse weather.
AKRNA
I just got a good laugh. I was browsing through the games and checked the Bears/Niners. Late in the 3rd and Fields has a rating of 2.8. Not sure I've ever seen one that low.

The Bengals having 4 TO's hasn't helped their cause. Only 1 punt for the Bengals so far.

Yeah, at a glance though it was pretty funny. Seems he acquitted himself though ending up with an 85 rating. Did the rain stop?

I don’t think we need to worry much about them either. They did a pretty good job at trying to throw this game away and a better team than the Raiders would have capitalized on that. No team achieves less with more talent than the Chargers.

NFL teams are more than just the front line talent. The good ones have a real coaching staff and a good culture. I don’t think there has ever been a truly dysfunctional team that has won a Super Bowl.
Broncofan
The Raiders could have easily won, but 2 key areas that are really going to need work - the OL pass pro was way more vulnerable, and their pass coverage was a problem - Keenan Allen left the game with 10 mins to go in the 1H, and Mike Williams was a decoy - and the Raiders couldn't cover the other guys. Herbert is a beast, but that's definitely also on the Raiders' coverage. Still, it's only week 1 - the Packers got destroyed 38-3 last year and then became the best team in the regular season (only to fail again in the playoffs). There's so much variance that's happening in Week 1, especially with TO's. The Steelers should be thrilled they won the game - because it cost them dearly. Sounds like TJ Watt tore his pec (again)....and Najee Harris left the game in a walking boot after having had a Lisfranc injury in the offseason. The Bengals will be fine in the end - they lost Tee Higgins early, and they turned the ball over 5x - that's literally a 1 in 50 win probability scenario (we saw what happened when we did the same thing to Dallas last year). The Pack, meanwhile, missed having both starting OT's on the sidelines today - for all the talk they had all preseason to work as a unit, they were utterly dismantled. Still, they will upgrade both T spots, and that will help their O return to success pretty quickly. The Cards have a much bigger problem - their D without Chandler Jones / JJ Watt has major issues - without any disruption, they are a very average unit - and one that Mahomes can just torch like he did today. The SF-CHI game may have been the worst monsoon game played in at least 20+ years. Other than the game counting, that's about all you can really take home from it. So much variance as a result of the conditions. We saw the same trench problems with the Rams having Whitworth retire, and also replace their RG, and miss Von's disruption on the D trench side. Other than the Raiders, though, what's interesting is that today's games really showed how strong the top AFC teams are. BUF, KC, and yes, even LAC showed well. The NFC teams have a lot more warts overall.

Sure does show our pass rush needs to be this year.
lomaxgrUK
One thing I do know having watched that Raiders-Chargers game - Davonte Adams is absolutely not a product of Aaron Rodgers. The Out Route he ran with an inside hesi to get his DB turned around; sheeeeeessshhhh. What a player. Edit - found it.
